I have a tales & twists ttrpg session tonight as a player. I get to be my super sapphic swashbuckling shapeshifting captain that is just a horny phoenix who is having a blast being person shaped. It’s like playing Luffy, but replace meat with pretty women and shiny trinkets #KelilsMisadventures

Every time I try a new ttrpg, I end up loving it. Why are there so many good games?

Frostblight in our setting. It’s a soul sickness. Every person has a soul element out of air, water, earth, fire, light. Frostblight turns your soul attribute to frost, and you slowly die of hypothermia.

Playing in a Perfect Draw TTRPG. What a fun system! I think it’s barely a pbta game, with nearly 20 different moves across 3 modes of play. But it’s soooooooo good! The way it brings its inspired genre to life, it’s like electricity to begin a card game in game!

Daily writing habits are the best. It’s so hard to recultivate honoring that time when you fall off the wagon for a few weeks.

I played #Soulframe for 2 hours, don’t think I saw a single npc of color in game other than the green little turtles. I love new fantasy properties, but hate when they are made to focus on white nearly entirely European inspirations.

Fantasy is more than white ppl with old European accents…

I’m gonna be running a new #TTRPG campaign! Just finished designing the campaign logo. Sapphic outlaws in a fantasy setting fighting against slavers. We’re playing Tales & Twists and have 1 slot open. Hopefully this will be the gayest thing I ever run! 😝

I’ve been quiet for a while on here. Been resting and resetting. In a world and administration that seeks to break you down, self care is a form of resistance. Stay well sisters, brothers, and siblings. ❤️

The regime is basically doing all the things that the American revolution was over- warrantless arrests, billeting soldiers in your city without permission, shutting down newspapers, putting tariffs on sugar & tea for no local benefit, building palaces, leadership that plans to never step down.

So then it becomes: I wanna hit them. Fight. I want to trip them. Fight. I want to grab them. Fight.

There’s probably tons of ways to tackle this subject, this is just my way.

Give the players A, B, or C options like powered by the apocalypse actions. You can boil down all fighting to one “fight action” & rather than having different actions and rules for damage, grappling, shoving etc, the result of a successful “fight” action is options for those outcomes.

For me, starting with “Why does this rule need to exist?” If I find a reason, I design with that goal in mind just how you write a novel with an audience in mind. My 2nd goal is to make it as easy as possible to arbitrate for the GM. Once I hit those 2 things, my method for adding depth:
