Show some love for clean air and use this template to send a letter to the NS Premier, your MLA, and the Minister of Ed today!

On Feb. 23, the NS Legislature is back in session. Let them know that it's time to get serious about infection control in schools.

Nova Scotia students, families, teachers, and staff deserve good health.

The province must:
❗improve indoor air quality by implementing international standards (ASHRAE 241) to decrease the spread of pathogens
❗monitor CO2 levels
❗improve school absence reporting

An airborne virus is a virus that can infect other people through unseen particles in the air, sometimes for hours after the sick person has left the area! Masks and clean, ventilated air can reduce the risk of getting sick from airborne viruses or infecting others.

I’m fond of Canadians who love many things about this country but balance that love with the recognition that we share a lot of the same systems of oppression with the United States and can’t simply reduce everything to Canada good, America bad.

I read it, and I believe it's inexcusably inadequate and will not prepare teachers or schools to confront the very real dangers of the "A.i." products pushed by your partners, including OpenAI.

What makes COVID different?
• It can breach the blood–brain barrier
• It can damage your endothelial lining and increase clot risk
• It can persist in tissues
• It can lower key immune cells
• It may increase cancer risk
• You can catch it multiple times per year
These are not “normal cold virus” behaviors.’

COVID isn’t acting like the viruses most of us grew up with, and treating it like “just a cold” is putting people at real risk. David Brasure breaks down why SARS-CoV-2 is fundamentally different, how it causes long-term damage, and what we can do to protect ourselves.

Excellent public health messaging from New York City!!

Be the happy peace sign waving emoji instead of the sick and sniffling emoji.

How can you do that?

Wear a mask! Ideally a respirator like an N95.

It’ll help keep you and your community safe.
