Niche nugget: I once asked Delta Goodrem who Nina Tucker is. (There was context. She took it better than she needed to.)
Pie chart showing sample of 159 responses and 72% saying Carousel exceeded their expectations.

We have a fully-remote, super-supportive, high-autonomy culture with quarterly meet-ups in the UK or Spain (that's right, we all jaunt off to Spain once a year!).
Most importantly, our products work, so you'll be helping teachers to improve student outcomes.

Right. There are ways to solve those questions without explicitly having learned ratio.
Huh.
Is the rationale that plenty of SATs questions in the topic of Ratio & Proportion can be answered without teaching ratio explicitly (because they're things like "35% of 320")? So you may as well not bother because it's complicated and won't yield much in terms of SATs marks?
Interesting - how prevalent do you think this is?
New post: Are book looks a waste of time?
For some, they are a meaningless scourge. For others, they are a vital accountability lever that provides insight into the lived curriculum.

I find it wild that if youβre verbally abusive to a police officer or a nurse you can be prosecuted, but we are saying that when it happens to teachers itβs not even appropriate to send a child home.
Yes, brutal but pretty.
Right! βParticipationβ is the most I would claim.
Have you done the one at Lanhydrock? Brutal hill at the end!

Surely just a matter of time.
New startup idea!
Oh itβs for sure terrible PR.
Itβs just one, smallish college out of 31 to be fair. So yeah, it sucks, but I donβt think itβs representative of the broader direction of travel for the whole uni.
Itβs an absolute case study in what tech often does. Duolingo optimises for engagement, because engagement drives revenue. Unfortunately language learning is about so many things that are hard and might reduce engagement if incorporated. So the company and the learnerβs incentives arenβt aligned.
