Park City, UT and Sundance film festival attendees speak: ICE Out!
We want clean air. Land to roam. And for billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share so the rest of us can have an actual shot at the American dream.
You know what we want instead of the big, ugly bill? Universal healthcare with dental and vision (because our teeth and eyes are part of us), a minimum wage that can support a family, paid parental leave, subsidized childcare and housing we can afford.
Today to went to Senator Curtis’ Provo office with a message: 11,000 Americans and Utahns want to keep public lands in public hands!
We stopped Mike Lee’s land grab for now.
The Senate Parliamentarian ruled it out of the bill. But Lee says he’ll be back. And the rest of this bill? Still full of cruelty.
Let’s keep fighting.
Right now, I’m focused on building a movement to stop Mike Lee’s extremist agenda. Whether I’m the candidate or someone else is, Utah deserves a real choice in 2028 and we’re getting organized now. Join us: docs.google.com/forms/d/1m5R...
I think it’s an atrocious idea by a senator who has been very unfriendly to public lands and Utah’s outdoor recreation industry.
Breaking: Idaho Senator Crapo joins Senator Risch in opposing Mike Lee’s public land sell off. And Montana Senator Daines went on the record with his opposition too!!!
Activism works!!!

In a middle-of-the-night backroom deal, Senator Mike Lee backed a plan to permanently sell off our public lands for pennies on the dollar.
This is theft.
Text “Caroline” to 43464 to call your Senators and tell them to protect public lands and clean energy investments.

If we want global peace, to solve the climate crisis and so many other issues, we need each other. We can’t build a just global community with closed doors.
We need visa equity. We need to fund and modernize our immigration infrastructure so that vetted travelers including students, artists, scientists, family members and tourists can visit, share ideas, and build bonds across borders.
On this trip, I learned that my Indian friends have to wait over 400 days just to get an appointment for a U.S. tourist visa. Many Tajiks and others around the world can’t get in at all, not because they’re unworthy, but because our system is underfunded, outdated, and broken.
Being born in the U.S. and holding a U.S. passport is one of the greatest privileges a person can have. While I’m aware of the emissions tied to travel, I believe that the power of human connection is worth fighting for. And right now, that connection is not equally available to everyone.
I’m excited to join global leaders, scientists, athletes, and activists to talk about the future of mountain regions + climate resilience.
Follow along — big adventures + big stories ahead!

Where in the world is Tajikistan?
I’m off to the Glaciers Conference in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, at the heart of Central Asia. Think peaks, massive glaciers, and some of the most under-the-radar wild places on earth.
I am honored to share that I’ve been invited by Tajikistan and the United Nations to serve as the Marathon Ambassador for the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, happening May 29–June 1 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. 🇹🇯
One thing I don’t hear a lot of people talk about is what to do if something goes wrong.
That’s why I use GOES. It’s like wilderness first aid in your pocket.

Nature helped to save my life.
Everyone deserves the chance to feel that joy.
But today, 1/3 people in the U.S. don’t have a park within 10 minutes of home. The Trust for Public Land is working to change that
Join the movement. 💚

Thank you so much for sharing, Bob and for the kind words and support! Together we will keep fighting and we will win!
It was the honor of a lifetime to introduce AOC at the Fighting Oligarchy tour stop in Salt Lake City, UT. Together, we'll keep fighting against authoritarianism, against oligarchy to create an American where everyone can thrive!
Such a great event in Utah! @aoc.bsky.social @sanders.senate.gov @carolinegleich.bsky.social
It’s that time of year where the approaches to ski are a little bit longer…
But oh so worth it!
Photo: a long slog out after a memorable day ski mountaineering in Grand Teton National Park.
A reminder today that it’s ok to be scared and do something anyway. Life is best by taking calculated risks. Go climb that mountain:

Glaciers are vanishing before our eyes. On this #UnGlacierDay, I’m fighting for the places we love, the water we rely on, and the future we deserve.
Climate action can’t wait.

When I sat down with @carolinegleich.bsky.social to interview her a few weeks ago, everything she said was something I needed to hear: how to handle hate and setbacks, and hope for this moment. Thank you, Caroline, for your inspiration and ambition.
