1 year ago President Trump and billionaire Elon Musk decimated USAID, an organization that has long played a critical role in tackling poverty, hunger, and inequality worldwide.
Today, we joined former USAID employees to call for a reinvestment in lifesaving aid.
This is a step in the right direction for aid groups like Oxfam to be able to do their jobs as the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical.
We will continue to support people in crisis in the West Bank and Gaza by providing lifesaving assistance.

The Trump administration claimed its elimination of USAID and humanitarian assistance was to “reduce government spending” when in reality it made up less than 1% of our federal budget. After wreaking havoc on aid programs, federal spending went UP by $260 billion in 2025.
Black History Month 2026 will be remembered for the loss of a civil rights icon. For 60 years, Rev. Jesse Louis Jackson worked tirelessly for freedom and dignity for all people and demonstrated that we can never stop organizing.

The massive surge in billionaire wealth has led to the 1% having an outsized influence over our politicians, economies, and media. As families struggle to afford groceries, housing, childcare, and healthcare, govt's need to listen to the needs of the people, not just the super-rich.
One year ago, the world’s richest man chose his first target of the second Trump era. Elon Musk & President Trump shuttered the world’s largest provider of lifesaving humanitarian aid.
The aftermath has been devastating but Oxfam won't stop fighting back. oxfamamerica.org/lifesavingaidcuts

For most of us, $100 could go towards groceries, housing, healthcare, childcare and more. For Elon Musk, it wouldn’t even be worth him picking up a dropped $100 bill….
One way we push back on this extreme inequality: properly tax the rich.

Oxfam America takes no U.S government funding, but now we are racing to fill the gap that was left. Every single day a family spends without the lifesaving aid they need is another day their lives hang in the balance. Fight back with us. 2/2 oxfamamerica.org/lifesavingaidcuts
President Trump, along with the support of the world’s richest man Elon Musk executed a full-blown assault on U.S humanitarian assistance, one year ago. Today, Oxfam is bearing witness to the devastation these cuts have caused. 1/2
It is deeply alarming that famine-level malnutrition has been confirmed in two additional areas of North Darfur. We express solidarity with the people of Sudan and remain committed to supporting those seeking refuge in neighboring countries.

A year ago, President Trump decimated USAID and made cruel cuts to lifesaving humanitarian aid. Ever since then we’ve been measuring the human cost. We will continue to fight to end this assault on lifesaving aid. oxfamamerica.org/lifesavingaidcuts
It's been a year since President Trump's reckless and cruel cuts to U.S humanitarian aid and the impact can be measured in human lives.

After last year’s rash & chaotic dismantling of humanitarian aid, this bipartisan commitment to reinvest $50 billion in lifesaving aid as part of this bill is a vital first step to provide support based on actual human needs rather than politics.

Studies like this continue to confirm what we are seeing on the ground: the death and suffering from Trump's aid cuts are devastating to people around the world.
To insist no one has died from the reckless cuts is unequivocally false.

We welcome the reopening of Rafah between Egypt and Gaza, which is desperately needed and long overdue.

It’s been one year since the Trump administration’s cruel cuts to U.S. humanitarian aid, and the deadly impacts continue to grow. A child could die every 40 seconds by 2030 due to these reckless decisions.
We took to the streets of D.C. to say enough is enough.
"No child deserves to die like Hind did, just as no child should live under the constant threat of bombardment, starvation and displacement"

ICE's recklessness is threatening the security of our communities. It's time to stop the senseless killings.
Congress must step in to demand thorough investigations and accountability and to ensure the Trump administration stops attacking our neighbors.
