We were invited by the hunters to this new (for us) area because they want to protect hares, Kiebitze, Rebhühner and other small birds/animals from the crows & magpies.
What a good girl! We see a lot of these in Ostwestfalen. I try to teach my horses I have in training to chase them. Greetings from a fellow expat.

Painting of a sculpture I had made several years ago, with some pigeon wings added. A round cluster of sewn together gasmasks floats on a plain beige background, the air hoses extending in various directions, four extended wings at four corners. The masks are a pale chalky green, with blue bands at the filters, the ribbon seams and metal parts on the goggles and filters are pale brass, the wings a purple gray. The sculpture has changed color over the years as the rubber from the masks oxidizes.
