Trying to convince myself to forget how stupid they look and buy a helmet, but do they really all have to look so weird on my big, fat head? ๐๐คฃ
Beautiful summer day at Kanazawa Station. โ๏ธ๐
JLPT is 6 days away. Iโm going into this one with very grounded expectations: I might pass but I donโt think Iโll get enough points on the reading section, so probably not. In my mock exams, I passed listening & kanji/vocab, so Iโll be practicing those long passages this week!
K-pop Demon Hunters is the most delightful thing Iโve seen in ages. ๐
Itโs been a bit of a sad story the last couple of weeks. End of WWII.
I have to stop trying to eat breakfast while I watch the AsaDora (morning drama) because I inevitably end up crying and canโt eat. ๐๐ญ๐ญ
There seems to be a consensus that because Iโm American, my opinions about food are invalid. Fam, Iโve eaten raw horse, milt, sea urchin, etc. but the moment I criticize a konbini sandwich, Iโm a tasteless Neanderthal who doesnโt deserve to be in Japan. Itโs honestly comical. ๐คฃ
Chocomint ice cream is the GOAT, I love it! But that sandwich looks so unappetizing. Iโd try a bite just to say I tried it, but I canโt fathom the taste being anything other than fake mint, processed, oily chocolate and refrigerated konbini sandwich bread. My taste buds KNOW. ๐
Oh no! I mustโve missed that one, were they absolutely feral in the comments?!
The comments on TT are not so bad but on Insta they are savage. Iโve blocked three people already. ๐
Like, really? Over a convenience store sandwich? People cursing me out, telling me to get out of Japan, saying I disrespect the culture? Yโall, please.
I posted a video on Insta and TikTok about this stupid chocomint sandwich I saw at FamilyMart and it has BLOWN UP. People are seriously offended that I dared to imply itโs gross (and I now have confirmation it is). It wasnโt meant to rage bait, but wow people are fired up. ๐
I had to text my bestie (sheโs a plant person fr) and ask her wth is this?! ๐คฃ her reply: INEDIBLE BERRY. DO NOT EAT. Girl, calm down. Iโm not just gonna pick something off a random tree in the middle of town and eat it. Iโm civilized. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Pewdiepieโs channel has basically become home videos of his kiddo and family, and Iโm here for it. ๐๐
Ah, nothing like a major plane crash in the news the same day you buy plane tickets for an international flight. Iโm not afraid of flying- I somewhat enjoy it- but that terror still lurks in the back of my mind. Iโm so sad for all those passengers and their loved ones. ๐๐ฅบ

๐ Fun Fact: Every Friday, Japanโs Maritime Self-Defense Force still serves curry riceโa tradition dating back over a century!
Whatโs your favorite Japanese curry style? ๐ Comment below! โฌ You know mine is Kanazawa curry, but I may be biased. ๐
Unlike Indian curry, Japanese curry uses roux to create a mild, stew-like texture. Curry became a household favorite, served with rice, udon, or even bread! The Japanese Navy adopted curry as a nutritious meal, leading to its popularity nationwide.
Did you know that Japanese curry (ใซใฌใผ) isnโt originally Japanese? ๐คฏ
Brought to Japan in the Meiji era (1868โ1912) via British naval officers, curry was introduced as a Western-style dishโbut over time, it evolved into the rich, comforting meal we know today!

I found my favorite melon Soda at Lawson tonight! It was the first time Iโd seen it all year, and of course it was the last one!
