Again I say: knitters have got to be dark wizards π designers even more so
But I also love Weird Construction that turns out wildly perfect so I'm adding that one to my list.
Socks go CRAZY. The first time I did a heel turn I was so shook. My first "What the fuck is happening- oH!! A GLOVE!!!" pattern was Kærlig by Ysolda Teague. Cuff then turn it and oh here's a thumb-
The Entertainer looks so cool!! Is that knit sideways?! π That back construction is wild
It really is! There's been patterns I've just felt like I'd been in a weird, confused fugue state working on, having no idea how this is supposed to resolve and then- ...my god look at that! A garment! In my hand!!! Out of loops!
It's gotta be witchcraft! (Stitchcraft?) π
It does! Video tutorials are one of the most patient tutors I've ever had which helps me so much. I just keep getting surprised by the sheer number of stitches, techniques, and ideas one can implement in work!
Every new pattern is an adventure, even years into this hobby!
requiem for vanished birdsong
A still photo of the character Plankton from SpongeBob Squarepants. He is standing on sand with a blue background. His hands are clasped in front of him while his single eye is wide, with a pinprick pupil. He appears very perturbed/stunned.
Watching a video to learn how to do mock cables and realizing...y'all I don't know how to do *shit* and knitters are just dark magicians because hOW DO PATTERNS KEEP PULLING NEW STUFF OUT OF THE WOODWORK-

Hawk is doing so good π₯Ί
Poor Suyan, she seems so nice.
A three panel comic of Mr. Manhattan on the surface of a barren planet. In the first panel the frame says: "It is 1990. I am a few months old. We are starting a dubious war in the Middle East." The second panel shows another frame of Mr. Manhattan standing on the planet alone: "It is 2003. I am 13 years old. We are starting a dubious war in the Middle East." The third panel shows Mr. Manhattan sitting alone on the planet, staring towards the reader, the stars flicker silently behind him. The frame reads: "It is 2026. I am 35 years old. We are starting a dubious war in the Middle East."
Shout out to this meme which while I wasn't alive in 1990 really inspired my overall exhaustion and despair today to fire neurons into a Batman meme.
A three panel meme/comic showing a scene from the show Batman Beyond, featuring Blight, a glowing green humanoid with a dark skeleton beneath their skin, and Batman. In the first panel, Blight is standing a fist half raised and the caption states: "Quick, I need to know what year it is. Who are we at war with?" In the second panel, Batman stands and is captioned: "The Middle East." In the final panel, Blight stands and demands in disgust and disdain: "Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"
As a Millennial raised on the internet my trauma response is best categorized as 'make a meme about it'.
Thank you! After some walk through help and videos I feel a little less terrified. I cast on Monday! Onwards, ho!!!
Thank you! I took the pattern in to some of our veterans and I feel much more confident now! I can do it! πͺ
A meme of Matthew McConaughey. He looks bedraggled and his cheeks are hollow as he sucks hard on a cigarette that is glowing brightly. His eyes are wide and look rather panicked.
That feeling when you start going over the pattern you picked for your LYS' spring KAL and realizing you may have bit off more than you can chew.

A card on a gradient background. The border is rainbow and features a full art illustration of the PokΓ©mon Meowscarada posing in the moonlight
A wonder pick card from PokΓ©mon Pocket TCG featuring the PokΓ©mon Armarouge. The card is a full art featuring the PokΓ©mon posing against a bright orange, flame-like background.
Having *shockingly* good luck today on this PokΓ©mon Day with packs and picks.

She does have a sweater version of the fossil frenzy! Just adapt it to no sleeves and I think you'd be golden!
I'm not sure which of her patterns I want to do next but her Alossaurus cowl tempts me! Maybe after a few more projects in my queue π

Hi story folks: if you liked Bioshock 2's guilt-haunted characters, trying to simply exist in the shadow of 'greatness' - or Thief's pagan themes, writhing beneath modernity's mask... Try @thekillingstone.com. π«

"Hahahah oh really? Hahaha how weird!! I would nEVER-"
Bless this mess.
Hell! Yes! I picked an Aran/Bulky weight sweater to start with. But also decided 'what if paneled sweater' so then I had to learn how to mattress stitch π
No matter what I'm doing, I always seem to learn something new with each project. I love it, even if I drag my heels sometimes haha π
I was always scared to try. This is my second one and I'm having a ball! Maybe 2026 can be your year for it? I believe in you!
Ahhh! This is so fantastic! I love it. Perfect place for it!
It's gorgeous! I love your color choices! I think I'm gonna try and make a second in the future (maybe a smaller one for my nieces?) and I'd love to play with a speckled or variegated like that.
I hear you on tight knits. I have a Comfort Fade Cardi on sleeve island from my 20s. I do not fit haha!
I love that!! I've admired Mary's patterns for a long time. I got to do the MKAL for her Tales of the Tundra cowl over New Years and wanted to pick this up right after.
Her work is so fun!
Thank you! I'm very excited with each section I complete! It took me four months to finish my first sweater. I'm on track for this one to go much, *much* faster π
π
I guess the secret all along was colorwork? π€
Thank you so much! I'm very pleased with it so far!
Thank you!
The completed yoke section of the Stego Sweater by Mary P. Hunt. The motif is in red and pale beige with a red collar and a set of dinosaur tracks in contrast beige. Below a decorative border, a red stegosaurus marches across a dotted field. The yarn is Cascade Woolpaka in Natural White Elm and Juniper Moon Rambouillet in Cabernet.
2026 has been hell so far so I've decided to choose whimsy wherever I can. Thus: Dinosaurs. π¦π§Ά
Y'all I'm so in love with this thing. It's so hard to put down, and I now understand how people bang out a sweater in two weeks.

Long tail cast ons keep us humble
Starting my Stego sweater! Pattern called for 120 stitches in a German Twisted cast on...I'm 2 short.
Into the timeout corner with ye!
...I'll try again tomorrow π«

This creator has some wonderful colorwork patterns! I did her Tales of the Tundra MKAL and am about to start on her stegosaurus sweater.
I hope you love your cowl!!

HOLY BISCUITS THAT WAS QUICK.
