The confusion is of your own creation. Nobody seriously believes Canada and China have a military-security alliance. You and others are sowing confusion to undermine Canada’s economic reset with China, which happens to be framed as a strategic partnership — akin to the UK, Germany, ASEAN etc.

Letter on Canadian Senate letterhead from Senator Yuen Pau Woo (British Columbia) dated March 4, 2026, addressed to “Dear Parliamentary Colleagues.” The letter warns that a report by the Jamestown Foundation titled “Harnessing the People: Mapping Overseas United Front Work in Democratic States” could lead to discrimination against Chinese Canadians. It states the report claims to identify over 2,000 organizations linked to the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department, including 575 in Canada. The senator argues the report treats normal activities such as celebrating Chinese culture or promoting Canada-China trade as evidence of CCP influence. He notes that Canadians United Against Modern Exclusion (CUAME), which he founded, has issued a critique of the report.

Second page of a letter from Senator Yuen Pau Woo continuing the message to parliamentary colleagues. The letter argues the Jamestown Foundation report unfairly casts suspicion on Chinese Canadian organizations, including political associations, and warns that accusations of foreign interference could lead to discrimination and stigmatization. It references the 2024 Foreign Interference and Security of Information Act and warns the report could lead to systemic discrimination comparable to the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1923. The senator urges colleagues to speak out against these accusations and protect Chinese Canadian communities. The letter ends with the senator’s signature and contact information.

This risks stigmatizing an entire community. I’ve written to Chinese Canadian parliamentary colleagues to encourage them to speak out against “modern Chinese exclusion.” 2/3

A recent report by @thejamestownfdn.bsky.social claims that hundreds of Chinese Canadian organizations are linked to the CCP’s United Front system—based on little more than cultural or community activities. 1/3

Doesn’t begin to answer the question. If the Chinese strategic partnerships with the UK, Germany, ASEAN etc are OK, why is Canada’s not? The only confusion is that which is manufactured by those who want to undermine Canada’s SP with China.

What is the difference between Canada’s strategic partnership with China and that of the UK, Germany, Korea, ASEAN etc? Why does Canada’s SP raise problems when the other countries’ SPs don’t?

Don't be fooled by Senator Moreau's misdirection.

My question is whether the government knew that @generaldynamics.bsky.social sold propellant for US-made howitzers that were subsequently provided to 🇮🇱 in 2024/25.

The question still stands. Same goes for the Canadian Commercial Corporation.

Foreign influence commissioner could monitor an Alberta referendum on separation | CBC News Americans seeking to influence a possible Alberta referendum on separating from Canada could have to register as foreign agents, says Canada's new foreign influence watchdog.

Non-state actors, including “foreign funded media and organizations” won’t have to register, which means the registry will not capture the most serious forms of foreign interference in Canada today.

Not only that, but the U.S. is also Vietnam’s top export market, not China. If Vietnam can successfully avoid over-dependence on its giant neighbour, why can’t Canada? A message for continental determinists.

I wrote to the Canadian Commercial Corporation seeking transparency on its Human Rights Assessment of indirect transfers of Canadian military equipment to 🇮🇱 via 🇺🇸, as reported by CBC News & @alex.readthemaple.com.

If there’s no complicity risk, say so. If there is, Canadians deserve to know.

Screenshot of a Tweet by Alex Tyrrell (@AlexTyrrellPVQ) that reads: Canada cannot stay silent while the United States escalates military aggression in Latin America and wages economic war on Cuba. These actions violate international law, undermine sovereignty, and threaten peace in our hemisphere — including our own independence.

This parliamentary petition sponsored by Alexandre Boulerice calls on the Government of Canada to condemn U.S. aggressions, reject participation in sanctions and military interventions, support Cuba through trade and cooperation, and uphold the right of peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean to self-determination.

If you believe Canada should stand for peace, sovereignty, and international law, add your name and share this petition.

Non partisan senators are raising the alarm — indeed they are the only ones left in Parliament to point to risks which MPs have glossed over. For example, a malicious actor could form a political party and use or even sell voter data without oversight.
