Thank you for the shout-out @scienceinvancouver.com! So excited to share our new work on reproducible models of the neural tube and early brain development + modeling aberrant cortical development and folding in Tuberous Sclerosis.

It was so great to host you! Thank you for a beautiful and outstanding talk and great conversation. Look forward to meeting again soon π
@AirCanada you cancelled my Sunday morning flight and just 1 hour later told me there are no options to rebook me within 3 days on any airline. That my only option is reimbursement. Itβs a lie. I see many flights available. Theyβre just $$. Youβre obliged to rebook me - do it!
Thanks! A lot of work already, and throughout the whole project no doubt. But it would be so satisfying and to implement projects with such a high degree of vision.
Terrible. Iβm so sorry to see this.
Thatβs awesome. Congrats. CFREF or NFRF-T (which we are trying for) would be such a gift.
Indeed. It hardly feels worth even trying with CIHR. Which program shave you found success otherwise, if you donβt mind sharing?
My thoughts exactly Esther when I saw this stat. 14% again. Couldnβt believe it. And then to hear other panels fared even worse. I thought the gov had promised more tricouncil funding and that we should be seeing it by now? This current reality is just devastating.
Seems like there are a lot of new folks here. Sharing a starter pack I made - Biomedical scientists in Canada π¨π¦π§ͺ. Let me know if you'd like to be added!

Trumpβs NIH cuts arenβt just numbers. They are delayed cures, abandoned treatments, futures stolen, lives that will be lost. This is why we Stand Up For Science.

How exciting!

Thrilled to receive positive reviews on our newest paper in Cell Reports Methods this morning (Pre-print here: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...)! And after just returning from a great few days with colleagues in Montreal. Often in research the exciting things cluster together π
This is what happens when you support Science& scientists
This isn't hypothetical.
The coming days are bringing higher prices and disrupted supply chains, this time not because of a pandemic or a war, but self-inflicted by our country's government under this president.
Elon Musk Is an Evil Piece of Garbageβand an A-Level Fraud, Too
He is stupid. He is incompetent. He is cruel. He is sinister. And people will die because of what heβs done.
Wonderful work by @nataliabaumann.bsky.social & the @djabaudon.bsky.social team showing how progenitor metabolism regulates region-specific neurogenesis! Glad our group could contribute, thanks to Eleonora Conti & Roberto Sansevrino.

All of this, right hereβ¦ π
Are you paying ATTENTION, yet?! π€
Hope so. πβ¨
Honestly, this would literally drive Cdns (namely me) crazy for the next four years. I really need calm and a sense of peace that Captain Canada (namely Mark Carney) would provide. A daily diet of anger and anxiety under a Poilievre gov is unimaginable. #Cdnpoli

Reminder to Canadian scientists who'd like to sign this open letter to party leaders to increase tricouncil funding. It has over 1800 signatures and you can still add to it (link is in the PDF). acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:...
The election in Canada π¨π¦ is a big deal - advance voting now over, election day is April 28th. Big possibility to elect a rational and capable Prime Minister. Please remember to vote in a week - don't assume the outcome is guaranteed, polling is getting tighter. And consider strategic voting. π¨π¦
Presidents have one job.
βPreserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States. β
This post is Donald Trump fully and publicly admitted he is incapable of it.
Congress must enforce the 14th amendment and remove him.
