The expectation of going to court for all instances of life support withdrawal was rescinded a couple of years ago IIRC. But only if all concerned agreed with the proposed course of action.

Eight healthy babies born after IVF using DNA from three people Genetic material from mother and father transferred to healthy donor egg to reduce risk of life-threatening diseases * β€˜We’d never heard of it’: a woman tells of her daughter’s death of mitochondrial disease Doctors in the UK have announced the birth of eight healthy babies after performing a groundbreaking procedure that creates IVF embryos with DNA from three people to prevent the children from inheriting incurable genetic disorders. The mothers were all high risk for passing on life-threatening diseases to their babies due to mutations in their mitochondria, the tiny structures that sit inside cells and provide the power they need to function. Labour has not implemented a single animal welfare pledge, say campaigners Ban on foie gras imports and hunting trophies not brought in, while rules protecting chickens have been weakened Labour has failed to implement any of its promised animal welfare policies in its first year in office and also weakened protections for chickens, campaigners have said. Among the pledges that have not been implemented are banning the sale of animals with cropped ears, prohibiting imports of hunting trophies and banning imports of foie gras. Some relate to the UK as a whole, others to England, Wales and Scotland and the proposed ban on trail hunting just to England and Wales. End illegal puppy farming and the smuggling of animals including dogs, puppies and kittens. Prohibit the importation of dogs and cats with fashion-based mutilations. Ban the use of snare traps. Ban the importation of heavily pregnant cats and dogs. Accelerate the phasing out of animal testing. Continue reading...

Opinion | Don’t call it β€˜Alligator Alcatraz.’ Call it a concentration camp. This facility’s purpose fits the classic model, and its existence points to serious dangers ahead for the country.

I wrote about how the Everglades experiment fits into the history of concentration camps in the US and abroad, and how it will connect a domestic network of camps to an international one. We’re watching the imposition of a global concentration camp network.
