Ty, theres an artist on twitter named so-taro that i picked it up from. While not a 1 to 1 translation I always liked how they would put a slightly lighter color inside of the shadows similarly to subsurface scattering. This painting was a lot of experimenting that has stuff i like and hate

With the year coming to a close I wanted to thank everyone for the support. Earlier this year my dad had a heart attack while also battling blood cancer so its been stressful to say the least. I hope to continue making content people enjoy and that everyone has a good new year๐

There's a good tactic to keep them on the phone longer in here: Start by saying you're concerned about a statement that the processor has put out, and then read the entire statement without stopping. This will cause confusion and awkwardness if they just repeat it back to you, which they likely will

Yeah it can be pretty frustrating at times. To me it always felt like I was relearning how to draw instead of getting really good at one thing
Commission work
Like heavy on the pure black values. I personally think that lineart and inking aren't inherently the same thing. Lineart is usually much cleaner and helps outline shape design. I think inking is more about sculpting the form similar to painting
