I will never understand the diaspora of Iran, Cuba and Venezuela. It takes a special kind of psychopathy to have the country you escaped to bomb your home country, see your own people get killed, rejoice in a celebration of "liberation" while nothing changes on the ground for your own people....π€―
The Sahel inverts every narrative we've ever been taught about how democracy is always good.
LOL
India. It is chock full of cooperatives and collective power.
The survey found no single consensus on what system should replace the current order. A secular republic was backed by 26%, while 21% supported a monarchy, 22% lacked enough information to decide, and 11% said that the form of an alternative system was not important so long as change occurred.
That's because a LOT of Hispanic voters also vote Republican. Talarico can speak across lines and is more likely to win the Latino (R) voters than with someone who doesn't want Blacks pickin cotton but is ok with the browns doing it instead.
Welp....I learned French intensively a long time back and am getting back into it now. The Maghreb and Francophone Africa are countries worth watching. Want to do Italian but I think learning another Latin language at this point is likely to confuse my poor brain. My other interest is in Arabic.
How a mathematician is cracking open Mexicoβs powerful drug cartels
This is the best question I have heard asked. I wonder why not many are working on this?
The Voyageurs Wolf Project of Northern Minnesota tags & documents grey wolf ecology & behavior: www.voyageurswolfproject.org
The video you see here is confirmatory proof:
Wolves. Love. Blueberries.
As much as 83% of a wolf's calories in summer months comes from eating berries.
Image of busy walking street with shops on the ground floor and other uses (offices, apartments) above. The text line says βWait, weβre afraid of walkable distances now?β Tag line of the Urban Truth Collective at the bottom.
Conspiracy lovers and opportunistic politicians, with some wealthy folks working behind the scenes, have been trying REALLY hard to make us scared of the simple idea of having more things nearby, and more choices in how to get them.
Weird, right? #UrbanTruth
America didn't seem to be too cut up about the gruesome murder of multiple numbers of their citizens either. They love to cosy up to the Al Sauds and Israel. So wonder why folks villainize one country. Expecting countries to have morality is also ridiculous.
Really digging this channel btw....
Ofcourse India occupied Kashmir. It is not a cucked country that will willingly give away territory. NO country will ever do that. This is where we see the limits of activist progressivism as they cannot see the necessity of geopolitical maneuvers to ensure internal security.
If you watch Indian news channels you see conservatively attired Muslims screaming on TV against the government without any fear of persecution. India is the only non-Muslim country offering Haj subsidies and still allowing Muslim civil code.
Do street-level tensions exist between Hindus and Muslims in India? Yes. But to claim that Muslims are being actively persecuted because they are a minority, when even according to V-Dem only 25% report discrimination vs 80% of Black Americans is to subscribe to Western hypocritical hegemony.
V-Dem is a very flawed survey with subjective reporting. I think Salvatore Babones does an excellent job of unpacking the flawed assumptions of Western intellectuals on India. Its tiring when folks force-fit Anglo-colonial racial hierarchy system onto India and only see what they want to see.
The only way folks could survive in the country is by forming sizable landed cooperatives for grain crops like wheat, rice, corn etc. while also having a family garden for fruits/veggies/spices, while other cooperatives engage in medieval style processing in the absence of fuel. Then trade locally.
Excellent video and quite a dynamic channel! Loved this analysis on the road to African monetary and infrastructural independence!
Cities, sustainability and old-time practice: something all urban practitioners should keep in mind!
Apropos of nothing....
Another zinger of a video!
Revolutions can also be quiet and enacted behind closed doors.....
Our release date is still seven months away, but my book is now up on the Yale website. Grateful to so many people who helped make this possible.

I see so so many bad scholarly takes on India and Modi, equating it to fascism and authoritarianism. They prefer to think that the Indian population is authoritarian than seek to understand the complexities and contradictions of a very different country. Salvatore Babones is the exception.
