One of #PopeFrancis’ last public statements is a jewel. On Holy Thursday last week, he visited inmates in Rome’s Regina Coeli jail. When he left the prison, he commented: “Every time I enter these doors, I ask myself, ‘Why them and not me?'"

We have gained a great intercessor in heaven. And not a second too soon. We who continue the struggle here on earth could certainly use a big dose of resurrection power.

Some parts will and others won't. A church 2,000 years old with 1.3 billion members is bound to struggle.

The parable of the #Prodigal Son (actually, the Prodigal Father) shows how God treats us.

Knowing we will fail, fall and sin again, and again, and again,
God nonetheless showers us with forgiveness and blessings.

And only asks we treat each other with similar grace.

You see someone begging on the side of the road. What's your inner dialog like?

"They should get a job."
"They're probably an addict."
"They'll buy drugs or booze."

If you're a #Christian, how do you reconcile that with "Whatever you do to the least of my brothers & sisters..."
