FT comments section this morning - saying what everyone else is thinking, right?
Every senator who voted for this jerk should be ashamed of themselves.
THEY are responsible for this mess.
@nytpitchbot.bsky.social nutshells it.
The cover of the Lancet says it all.
It's not hyperbole to suggest that today we have a federal government that doesn't so much represent or resemble a federal administration as it does a family crime syndicate.
In tonight's speech, the president did what he does best: celebrate himself. But if anyone was looking for leadership focused on easing their current economic pain, he made clear that they'll need to look elsewhere.
Both the menβs and womenβs USA hockey teams won gold, yet Trump joked about βhaving to inviteβ the women to the White House, and the room laughed. This is the party that ran on βsavingβ womenβs sports, and by that I mean used it to shoehorn bigoted messaging into a campaign.
So NJ lawmakers wrote a bill to rein in ICE.
And this is what they called it.

Curiosity is something more folks should embrace. Curiosity sparks learning. And learning is a good thing.
Did you now sea otters hold hands when they sleep so they don't drift apart, a behavior known as rafting.
Ask yourself: why would this administration want to delete references to Medgar Eversβ racist assassin being a racist? Why might that be?
I challenge anyone in this administration or Congress to defend this.
So the feds ARE NOT considering an mRNA vaccine for the flu, which could save countless lives, but ARE backing research into whether horse dewormer can cure cancer, because the right views vaccines as elite and ivermectin as populist.
Cool.

This is what Hess said: βIt brings up mixed emotions to represent the US right now. I think itβs a little hard. Thereβs obviously a lot going on that Iβm not the biggest fan of. Just because I wear the flag doesn't mean I represent everything that's going on in the US.β
Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) reacted to Trump personal attorney-turned Deputy AG Todd Blanche discussing the DOJ's intention to appeal the judges decision releasing Liam Ramos.
"Why is the Trump Administration fighting harder to arrest 5-year-old children than pedophiles in the Epstein files?" he posted
βThe reason Trump didnβt apologize for the Obama post is because he is a small, petty, fragile man who cannot take responsibility for his own actions. And the second reason, frankly, is because he is a racist.β
It's obvious but still striking to consider that we have a United States government driven solely by one man's emotional dysregulation and dysfunction.
Saying something like βthis is not normalβ would go a long way in cutting through this BS. Either that or βLOL Ms. Leavittβ
there's something unholy about the Trump administration being laser focused on "fraud" while Trump pardons an endless clown car of fraudsters and bilks taxpayers at every opportunity. it's just transparently absurd.
Masked thugs on the streets.
Measles outbreaks across the nation.
Blatant government corruption.
Coverup of group of elite sex offenders.
Ruling party trying to rig elections.
Leader building grandiose monuments to himself.
Collapse of remnants of nonpartisan civil service.
Third world America.
Now that's something.

This. They are turning the wealth the American people have created over generations into cash for their own dirty pockets. Itβs obscene.
Letβs try this one in foreign correspondent voice:
State Security Forces Arrest Journalist Who Covered Protests Against Regime Official
This isnβt about convicting Don Lemon. Itβs unlikely that will happen. Itβs about intimidating journalists & making them censure themselves out of fear of consequences. Itβs about eroding the free press because the administration canβt afford the criticism.
The Epstein files are 40+ days overdue because the FBI/DOJ needs more timeβ but they have plenty of time for Kash Patelβs partying, raiding election offices because of 2020, and arresting Don Lemon. These people are the most corrupt people in existence.
