I don't think anyone could have anticipated that a President of the United States would bully the Smithsonian into changing museum displays, force ivy league universities to remove certain courses, and withhold funding from K-12 schools across the country until they change their curriculum. 2/4

When I wrote this book, I had no idea that it would be released on the eve of our nation's 250th birthday, in the midst of a second Trump Administration, at a time when he is literally challenging the way our schools and museums teach American history. 1/4

I think independent redistricting commissions would be a great idea in every state, so we agree there! Otherwise, a second body with longer terms and larger districts would just be a Senate by another name.
I get it. If I lived in California, New York, or Texas, I would hate the Senate too because it seems so undemocratic. However, it was part of the “Great Compromise” for a reason. Our friends in small states would quickly get tired of being outvoted in Congress on issues important to them.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but the Senate is there to counterbalance the House. With elections every two years in the House and members only having to win the votes of a few thousand neighbors instead of their whole states, Congress would be even more useless and chaotic without the Senate.
I just want to take a moment to acknowledge the fact that millions of Americans are learning how the legislative process works by watching this. It has been 49 years since Schoolhouse Rock’s “I’m Just A Bill” aired on TV.
Heard a guy say once that she invented Hip-Hip, which is laughably untrue, but she did help introduce it to a mainstream audience with the song “Rapture” and its video.

You did it again @netflix.com! #Squidgame3 is a brilliant reflection of the human condition: Greed and cruelty dominate the majority, but a defiant minority based on love and helping others ultimately wins. And chef’s kiss on the ending! The ultimate game of greed and capitalism belongs in the USA!
Polling relies on scientific methodology, but none of that matters if you don’t have the right sample. It’s all about who they include in their sample and whether those people accurately represent the voters who will participate in the election.
How can one statement be this depressing and this hilarious at the same time?!
When I lived in South Carolina in my 20s, I wasn’t on Medicaid, but I got all of my birth control, pap smears, and annual checkups at Planned Parenthood because it was the most affordable option without insurance. So many young women will lose basic health coverage because of this decision.
Tapping out because you’re hurt is one thing, but all of the women leaving together because they think they can’t hold their own against men is crazy and sends a horrible message. Kudos to Cheney for sticking it out. #NakedAndAfraid #LastONEStanding

I used to check X to see what conservatives were saying about a given topic, but now it’s just a nonstop commercial for Elon and his businesses. What happened? I didn’t think it was possible for anyone to suck more air out of a room than Trump, but here we are.
Any form of political violence, especially against elected officials, must be whole-heartedly condemned.
Our hearts are with the state of Minnesota and the Hortman and Hoffman families.
