Further dishonesty from the BBC in, again, dogmatically refusing to accept that Laura Kuenssberg spread harmful misinformation about trans people on her flagship politics programme.
New post on my re-titled, new-domained personal blog - explaining how these two paintings influence my blogging - and what I have recently realised about the relationship between the two paintings.

People sat in rows a committee hearing - all smartly dressed
Here is my run-down of today's Science and Technology Committee hearing (House of Lords) where "considerable disquiet in the science community" was raised with Sir Patrick Vallance. Really great to see the public gallery packed with physicists!
Oh now I get it. Dubai is Golgafrinchan Ark B.
Hey. Hey.
What's the difference between Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter?
One of the authors is entirely consumed by rot, and the other has been dead since 1973.

When we judge young people by how they look, we miss who they really are. Letβs challenge the stereotypes that harm and build empathy instead.

Gorgeous view of a calm harbour and blue sky through the window of a cafΓ©.
At last, and in a fine celebration of meteorological spring - female Hazel flowers emerging on Isle of Mull, Western Scotland. And a gorgeous day for it!
It's here:
Kaitlyn Facista's 'Into the Heart of Middle-earth'. Cue ominous fateful soundtrack...
Actually, I'm delighted it's turned up on a chilly but sunny spring morning, with birds chirping outside my window and daffodils nodding in the garden. Let the journey begin!
We have filed supplemental evidence to GANHRI on the EHRC. Raising concerns about health impacts, lack of EIAs, no trans stakeholder engagement and opaque AI use in the 50k+ consultation. A rights regulator should not be a risk to the people it exists to protect.

Today, Angela Rayner put the fight for commonhold as "vested interests vs people being shafted."
She's right.
It's time to mandate commonhold, end leasehold creation for new builds, and give existing leaseholders conversion rights.

Text on an academic article about "Moving Things: Moving Cartloads of Treasures from Venice to Ethiopia, ca. 1400" pasted into Grammarly in a Browser. It offers to invoke the digital ghosts of David Abulafia, Barry Flood and Chris Wickham to give me "expert feedback".
Using Grammarly for the first time in forever ... WHAT?
As a non-native speaker writing primarily in English, I used to use it to check prepositions, point out too long/convoluted sentences etc.
It now offers to summon colleagues both living and dead to "expert review" the piece???
What?

I also walked past Mere Knolls Cemetery which was created in mid 19th century due to Sunderland cemeteries being full due to a major cholera outbreak - a cholera outbreak which I remember writing about when at school many years ago.
