Okay this isn't an audiobook but the question reminded me of a piece I thought you might enjoy: do you know Orpheus the Lowdown by Andy Partridge and Peter Blegvad? It's a pretty fun concept album (as I imagine you've guessed, it's a loose adaptation of Orpheus and Eurydice).

It's almost like the demands of capitalist rationalization for most efficient economic exploitation and concentration of wealth happens coincide with a desire to efficiently exploit populations and concentrate power...

I've been waiting for things to get bad enough that people wake up since I was a teen in the Bush 2 years. We can't trust in revelation alone to persuade our lost friends, when politician contest truth and the other horror they already gleefully show as spectacle in full view and have for years.
