I wrote Economix, a graphic novel explaining the economy, available here: https://shorturl.at/K7WWr You must of course steer clear of pirated versions, like this one, right here, at this link, one free click away: http://bit.ly/3nGyFnN.
βMAGAβs fundamental shared quality is a total lack of theory of mind for other peopleβ is a theory that keeps getting validated by reality - look at almost every decision theyβve made in the war with Iran, and how they seem constantly surprised by the unanticipated actions of other parties.
There were 129 journalists killed around the world in 2025. Two-thirds (86) were slain by the Israeli military, a new report by the Committee to Protect Journalists found, per the WashPost:
Kristi Noem gave her political operative a no-bid contract worth $143,000,000 of taxpayer money to make Fox News ads starring her at Mt. Rushmore. We will be following this story on a daily basis if it turns out that Hunter Biden was involved.
Markwayne Mullin Reportedly Fingered Nostrils of Colleagues and Their Spouses During Visit to Israel

From a pandemic-era piece I never finished:

This is the first date used by NYS to decide if a candidate qualifies for public matching fundsβand then actually receives them by April 15.
This Day in Labor History: March 5, 1972. The workers at General Motorsβ plant in Lordstown, Ohio went on strike after authorizing it two days prior. They weren't on strike for traditional reasons, not really. They just hated their jobs. Let's talk about this unique moment in labor history!

β’ Check your polling location before you leave, Texas loves last minute changes
β’ Stay in line, if you are in line by closing time, you have the right to vote
Do not let confusion do the work of suppression.

I voted today but it was the strangest experienceβ¦ went to my normal place to vote and was told I now have to vote at another location. Cool. Went to that location and they βcouldnβt find meβ. I pulled up my voter registration online and then they asked for my drivers licenseβ¦.then further proof
Cβmon who could have foreseen any of that.
reading over Malliotakis v. Williams and lowkey think New York courts/the NY Redistricting Commission should be like...since the Supreme Court clearly lacked jurisdiction to intervene in the case at this time, we are treating it as the nonbinding advisory opinion that it is, thanks for the input tho
Just paid the monthly health insurance bill for myself, spouse & 24 yr old son - itβs $2390.00.
I have to go to hospital later to drop off payment for sonβs outpatient surgery last year - we owe $2500.00 as ins only covered small portion.
But, hey - letβs all pay to bomb the hell out of Iran.
"We called London a war zone and moved to Dubai by mistake"
Starting to see the argument of "Platner has to visit right wing shows and spaces to win votes" arguments and...you realize this is the exact argument that Third Way makes, right? It's literally the exact same thing Gavin Newsom is doing just with different production quality.
And he wasn't able to put in his bet on Polymarket.
The last of these, which would have been an insult in previous eras, is part of the Buttigieg value proposition. Buttigieg is technocracy made flesh. Who could be safer than a politician who has had his card punched at all the great meritocratic institutions, and who has followed the modern cursus honorum from local office to national? And who could be less Trumpian? He is unashamed of technical competence, even when it makes him sound dweebish. Without embarrassment, he bragged to me that during his days as a management consultant, heβd worked with data sets βtoo big for Excel to handle.β
lol oh god no. 2028 is going to be about inspiration to action not more west wing fantasy delusion. www.theatlantic.com/politics/202...
"Communism stands for everything America abhors: slave camps, rigged elections, purges, dictatorship." --J. Edgar Hoover, 1958.
One point I haven't seen made, but which seems pretty clear to me, is that Iran was basically the most rational, restrained nation in the Middle East.
Netanyahu to the U.S. Congress, 2002: "If you take out Saddam, Saddam's regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region."
there will be a few months lag between me writing these words and you reading them an I have little doubt that things will be even worse by then in ways I can't even imagine now
from the intro to OUR LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE, written in late October. I mean, it was an easy prediction.
Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
He's starting to rot.
Gallego is a big crypto supporter. If he's endorsing Platner, I have strong doubts about Platner's ultimate commitment to breaking the power of tech billionaires. prospect.org/2025/03/10/2...

Nothing in the last month has improved the situation.
this one fucked me up so much. guy turns his life around after a drug conviction, becomes a happy, beloved, pet rescuing houseboat dad who undersells his mechanic services so poor folks can afford them. ICE grabs him one day out of the hospital for heart problems which then kill him. horrifying
