I feel reasonably confident in speculating that this was conceived for a different line that isn't happening and was later shoehorned into MPG to get that $Optimus, because it doesn't feel like a MP. Feels like a third party MP-10 derivative. Not bad, but you have been here before.

More reasonable, but imo, for it to actually be a "Grail" it has to be nearly or actually impossible to find. Probably should carry consequences too. G1 Unicron comes to mind. One could break into Takara's offices or archives to get it, but they probably won't let you take it along to jail
