We have a Labour govt that can make life uncomfortable for the billionaire media owners in this country but they donβt because they made a grubby deal with them before the election.
It is imperative we free ourselves by regulating these vile organisations properly.

This is very well said, if there are only a few in America who speak out, it will be easy to silence them. Itβs more difficult if millions speak out.

I am writing to my MP now, we cannot allow the govt to erode the rights to fair justice.
There are already too many miscarriages of justice. Moreover, certain British judges seem to approach trials with a firm view of the outcome - eg Judge Christopher Hehir and environmental protestors.

It is imperative we get a new voting system and put the days of having unrepresentative governments in the past.
Itβs no wonder many of us have lost faith in politics.

I made the mistake of watching this on catch up and it was just rubbish. The Telegraph/Tufton Street woman was absurd. Demanding we use more oil and gas yet promoting a war that halts supplies.
The programme was only saved by George Monbiot, the Economist Defence Editor and many of the audience.

Anyone who wants Britain to join the war in Iran needs their head examined
They don't know what they want to achieve, why they're doing it or what the consequences might be. They are lost in the void.
This is an excellent essay from Ian Dunt.
I wonder, did the right wing and press/media turn on Harold Wilson like this over his refusal to commit British lives and assets to Vietnam?

I donβt vote in the US, however, I find the role of Ken Paxton in this Democrat Primary very sinister.
The Republicans clearly fear Jasmine Crockett. The milquetoast Democrat leadership needs to find a role for Jasmine Crockett but I am not hopeful.

This Primary disenfranchised thousands of Crockett voters in Dallas County, the area most supportive of her.
The rules were changed so that voters could only vote at one specified place after allowing voters to vote at any convenient voting station. This was only a Dem Primary, imagine November.

I think youβre right but for a different reason. Blue Labour will destroy Labour because thatβs their aim - they have very little in common with Labour supporters and are openly contemptuous of them.
Moreover, they are closely linked with right wing think tanks (Policy Exchange) and Nigel Farage.

Whenever challenged to move away from America, our leaders say itβs too difficult because we are reliant on America for so much.
However, they were quite happy to tear us away from Europe, and all that entailed, even though we were so reliant.
If you donβt start, it will be too late.

And steadily the Overton Window shifts to the far right.
Itβs for this reason that Starmer has been taken hostage by the far right Blue Labour elements of his party. I thought he might change after McSweeneyβs departure, however, Glasman always boasted about having a direct line to Starmer.

Many of these UK nationals moved to the Mid East to avoid UK tax. Forget them!
