Good morning, Susan. Had a beautiful day yesterday in Detroit with temperatures in the low 70s and a rare appearance by the sun. I took advantage and got out on my E-bike for the first time this year, and went exploring with my camera. I hope you are doing well.

Good morning, Susan. I am just waking up to the shock that it’s daylight savings time change and I lost an hour overnight. 😳🀣
I finished reading Niall Williams’ β€œAs It Is In Heaven” and posted a mini review. Spoiler: I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have read any of Naill Williams’ novels, you know that he is a wonderfully lyrical writer who sprinkles his storytelling with the spiritual and the mystical. β€œAs It Is In Heaven” is no exception. This 300-page novel is the story of a couple of unlikely loversβ€” Stephen Griffin, a quietly shy, 32-year-old history teacher who has spent his life growing up in Ireland lost in books, and Gabriella Castoldi, a beautiful, temperamental and talented classical violinist who has chosen to expiate herself from her native Venice to live in a mountain village on the western coast of Ireland. Their views of the world and their interaction with each other is shaped by the two vastly different fathers who raised them β€” one a loving, giving father who is physically present in the first half of the novel and the other a selfish, angry, unloving father who presence is known only through Gabriella’s troubled memories. Like Williams’ β€œThis Is Happiness,” this is a story about loss, grief, hope and healing.

I finished reading β€œAs It Is In Heaven,” by Irish writer Niall Williams, this past week. Very very enjoyable book. See my mini review in ALT. #BlueBrewBooks #Reading #Books #NiallWilliams #IrishWriters

Good morning, Susan. Been a weird week for weather, with lots of foggy days, then severe thunderstorms overnight Friday. The west side of Michigan got hit by deadly tornadoes. Now it looks like we’re heading into a calmer, sunny and warm stretch of weather.

Good morning, Susan. I hope this Sunday finds you well. I started reading Niall Williams’ β€œAs It Is In Heaven” this past week. I’m almost halfway through it and really enjoying it. I’ll try to do a mini review when I finish it.

I liked the balance and visual harmony of the two revolving doors next to each other. I just had to wait for the right moment when I could capture the juxtaposition of somebody coming out at the same time somebody was going in.
