Those pictures aren’t from the redwoods, these are, the reason they have redwoods there is bc they were trying to figure out what kind of tree would be most sustainable for their lumber industry, the redwoods grow too slow though, they settled on a type of pine tree

Low lying ferns with leaves about 5-6 inches with red-purple veins, the leaves closer to the base of the plant are greener with the outer leaves being tinted red-purple

The same ferns but those towards the back of the picture are bright green where those in the front are tinted that dark red-purple color

These ferns are REALLY COOL! I took a picture of them bc I was curious why some of the leaves are red and it ended up being a really complex answer, in short the younger leaves undergo some sort of severe stress when growing so that red hue must be produced to prevent their dna from decaying
