Today, @mayorwu.boston.gov announced that the City has converted the Hillcrest in Roslindale into permanently affordable housing through the Acquisition Opportunity Program and the Boston Acquisition Fund. Additionally, First Citizens Bank announced a new $1 million contribution to the Fund!
Joined B’nai B’rith Housing to cut the ribbon on the Logan Square Residences in Hyde Park – a new 63-unit affordable housing community for adults 55+. Another example of @mayorwu.boston.gov’s commitment to ensuring older adults can stay in and contribute to their communities.
Today we commemorated the grand opening of 570 Warren St with @clt-housing.bsky.social, as well as CLT’s 40th anniversary. 570 Warren provides 26 units of supportive housing, serving many that are in recovery - another example of @mayorwu.boston.gov working to make Boston a home for everyone.
Today we broke ground on Erie Glenway with ACEDONE, one of the final Welcome Home, Boston (WHB) Phase I sites, bringing 9 new affordable homes to Dorchester. @mayorwu.boston.gov’s WHB initiative is turning City-owned parcels into affordable homeownership opportunities across neighborhoods.
Great to be at the Blume on the Ave Block Party this weekend. Blume on the Ave is turning three once-vacant City lots into 30 income-restricted homes and 3,000+ sq ft of neighborhood space in Mattapan – advancing @mayorwu.boston.gov’s commitment to making Boston a home for everyone.
This week, @mayorwu.boston.gov signed the Surplus Municipal Property for Affordable Housing Ordinance, sponsored by @ruthzee.bsky.social, making affordable housing the top choice for repurposing surplused City buildings and reinforcing the City’s commitment to housing.
Congrats to The Pryde, named the 2025 recipient of the AHTCC Recognition of Housing Tax Credit Excellence in the Housing for Seniors category! With City support, The Pryde turned a former school into 74 affordable homes – the first LGBTQ-affirming senior housing in New England. @mayorwu.boston.gov
Final stop: United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury Community Garden. Once nearly lost to I-95, activists reclaimed it for community gardening. Today it’s full of fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers, and history. Much appreciation for the activists and gardeners whose hard work has kept this space green.
Next stop: Julian, Judson & Dean Community Garden in Dorchester, overseen by the Trustees. Renovated with GrowBoston resources, this garden is full of squash, beans, collards, corn, and more. Wonderful to have spaces like this where residents can grow their own food and connect with community.
This week we joined GrowBoston to celebrate harvest season at Boston’s food forests and gardens. First stop: Upham’s Corner Food Forest – once a vacant City lot, now thriving with fruit trees, berries, and more. Open space keeps our communities connected and resilient.
Joined @mayorwu.boston.gov and The Peace Institute for the ceremonial groundbreaking of their new Center for Healing, Teaching & Learning. The City of Boston will provide the land for this Center, which will provide survivor and reentry support, counseling, youth programming, and much more.
Yesterday marked the opening of the new Jackson Square Greenway. This project, supported by a $150,000 Grassroots funding award from @housing.boston.gov, creates new green space and key bike/pedestrian links to the Southwest Corridor and the Orange Line.

This morning, I joined @mayorwu.boston.gov and the Asian CDC in Chinatown for the groundbreaking of 55 Hudson. The 12-story project will feature a new library and 110 affordable homes, a testament to decades of community activism and Mayor Wu's goal to make Boston a home for everyone.
This week, @housing.boston.gov joined TCB to tour Mildred Hailey 1A & 1B. 223 income-restricted units on the way - replacing @bhaboston.bsky.social units while also adding more income-restricted apartments!

Yesterday, DCAMM invited members of the West End community and local officials to tour the downtown Hurley and Lindemann Buildings. The state is launching a redevelopment process to convert the space to residential mixed-use, with a focus on preservation and creating more housing in the City.

Today I toured the Waverly/Clifford homes in Roxbury. PWN Developments and Janey Construction are building 7 new income-restricted homes on City-owned parcels. Once complete, there will be six affordable homes for sale and one affordable rental unit. Foundations poured, framing to start soon!
