Today, I joined VietAID to tour Hamilton at Mt. Everett - an income-restricted development which will provide 36 units of housing for our older residents. Great progress. @mayorwu.boston.gov continues to ensure that Boston residents can age in place with the support they need.

Today, @mayorwu.boston.gov announced that the City has converted the Hillcrest in Roslindale into permanently affordable housing through the Acquisition Opportunity Program and the Boston Acquisition Fund. Additionally, First Citizens Bank announced a new $1 million contribution to the Fund!

Today we commemorated the grand opening of 570 Warren St with @clt-housing.bsky.social, as well as CLT’s 40th anniversary. 570 Warren provides 26 units of supportive housing, serving many that are in recovery - another example of @mayorwu.boston.gov working to make Boston a home for everyone.

Today we broke ground on Erie Glenway with ACEDONE, one of the final Welcome Home, Boston (WHB) Phase I sites, bringing 9 new affordable homes to Dorchester. @mayorwu.boston.gov’s WHB initiative is turning City-owned parcels into affordable homeownership opportunities across neighborhoods.

Final stop: United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury Community Garden. Once nearly lost to I-95, activists reclaimed it for community gardening. Today it’s full of fruits, veggies, herbs, flowers, and history. Much appreciation for the activists and gardeners whose hard work has kept this space green.

Next stop: Julian, Judson & Dean Community Garden in Dorchester, overseen by the Trustees. Renovated with GrowBoston resources, this garden is full of squash, beans, collards, corn, and more. Wonderful to have spaces like this where residents can grow their own food and connect with community.

On Saturday, we cut the ribbon on a new community garden at the BHA’s Franklin Field with @mayorwu.boston.gov! 16 raised beds now fill a once-empty space, part of the work to make Boston a home for everyone.

Today I toured the Waverly/Clifford homes in Roxbury. PWN Developments and Janey Construction are building 7 new income-restricted homes on City-owned parcels. Once complete, there will be six affordable homes for sale and one affordable rental unit. Foundations poured, framing to start soon!
