there is an extremely long list of people who need to be held accountable in the next administration but sending the DOGE boys to big boy jail needs to be near the top of the list

We live in a world beyond parody. The United States has had four minesweeper vessels in the Persian Gulf for 35 years. Just yesterday these ships arrived in Philadelphia to be decommissioned, a day before Iran announces that they are mining the Strait of Hormuz.

I think I would like it if we imported like a super diet version of Japan's work culture. Seniors support juniors, we thank each other for working hard, upper management ritually humiliates themselves at press conferences when something goes wrong. I think that would be better than what we have now.

Without traffic diverters to keep cars on the arterial, the greenways become an impassable parking lot. This makes them nearly unusable as a biker as we are forced to either sit in line with the cars, zigzag between them, or ride on the sidewalk.

to add to this: not sure how many people realize how many active "small family farms" in the USA have been economically unviable for decades already and basically exist as a heavily subsidized hobby for the owners

If I had a dollar for every person who asks how defense attorneys sleep at night, I’d be able to pay my student loans. If I had a dollar for every person who asks how prosecutors sleep at night, I could maybe buy a pack of gum. Broken society.

This is what we get for Abraham Lincoln not letting General Sherman absolutely shitface the entire South. This is what we get for letting Southerners vote in the first place. Get ready folks, the best is yet to come! The dumbest people in the US are the ones with all the voting power, yay!!

Ideally novel technologies like “books” would make it unnecessary to keep rediscovering the stove is hot every 40-80 years, but since we seem to be struggling with “Nazis are bad” I won’t hold my breath for intergenerational retention of trade policy lessons.
