yea my pottery studio also does riso workshops/cheap self riso printing and so many of the zines are rly cool and interesting and it's just one guy, the riso printer at the shop and Maybe a couple staples
I think what's missing from those ppl saying you have to do the shiny one is price points and in person vending/trading vs online only marketing makes a huge ass difference. scrappy lo fi zines and doujin are alive in contexts not fully visible on socmed

I also love them i really still like thinking about the scene where ysolde yelled at tyfiel that she could have saved their parents & thought that he died afterwards... bc actually she was always going to be too busy to save them. Her being more talented didn't mean anything in the end either :')
yes I sooo see that. like how she would have struggled with feeling a lack of control and overcome it via sheer grind/taking on burdens/running her own household especially post calamity. to young tyfiel it would have felt very unfair because he was also trying his best
