stop assuming that ALL swers operate in the same way. what works for one may not work for another. lumping us all together is harmful. and making assumptions instead of asking questions sucks and puts us in really uncomfortable positions. and atleast for me, feeling SO unsafe.

The real MeToo “cancel culture” was what happened to the women and other victims who came forward. They were retraumatized, harassed, humiliated, sued, fired, and blacklisted. Then they were the subject of a revisionist history that MeToo went “too far” and deserved a reactionary backlash
I could go on for hours about how much I hate this and how casually sex workers are dehumanized because of it.
Can't say I'm surprised. When a society tries ban or block anything sexual, people start getting more into kinks and fetishes.
A lot of people are sexual and they're going to find some way to be able to experience it.

I’m from NC where Jesse Helms for years utilized racism to get elected. He would tell white folk that Black folk were coming for their jobs. Meanwhile, Reagan had his “welfare mother” who was always depicted as a poor Black woman and a war on drugs that was a de facto war on the Black community
Yes, Trump’s attacks on the Black community are egregious, but Black people have always been in the crosshairs. Desegregation may have happened but the government from Nixon to now has made sure to try to disenfranchise the Black vote and Black people and use negative stereotypes along the way

Gentle reminder:
The fight for abortion rights and the fight for sex workers' rights are inherently connected because the major opposition to both is rooted in the idea that women do not deserve bodily autonomy and cannot be trusted to know what's best for them.
Its not just that the sex trafficking myths around the super bowl make life harder for sex workers, it's that the diversion of resources and media attention makes stories like this go under the radar for most people
