My biggest problem with having had Covid isn’t that I don’t remember things, I just don’t recall them: “You went out to dinner Thursday.”

“Oh yeah, I had a steak and M had the surf n turf. The vegi tray was meh, but overall we had a nice time…”

Honestly, I don’t know how political persecution works in a country with more guns than people. I mean, at which point does the law break down and we become a de facto failed state? How many “Ruby Ridge” scenarios will occur? Will law enforcement sell their soul for unfettered power? Scary times…

I’ve never heard the last word used in that context, guess I’m more sheltered than I thought!?

It’s been said that they don’t need the money, it’s only a way of keeping score, and their behavior only highlights the point. Blind greed with the goal of being the greediest person on earth…

But…but…cutting his taxes even more will lead to even more charity, like the last one did.

In light of the coming storm, my greatest weakness is an inability to turn a blind eye to injustice. Ironically, that’s also a strength I will lean into. I didn’t vote for the leopards, so I will not offer up my face in fealty.

Had a discussion with close friend this morning: are we on track to become a failed state? I honestly question the resilience of our institutions at this point. We have all the legal authority to keep trump from power, yet we’re like “oh well, it was a good run…”

It seems to me many people are quite ignorant to basic facts, and have little to no desire to change. When they hear a politician scream “high crime, bad economy, evil immigrants” it must be true because why would the media parrot it if not so. Seeking out more info would only hurt their world view.

Condensed example: “The E. coli recall is fake, and the real reason is to punish meat packers for not vaccinating their herds.” How do you combat that level of ignorance, willful or otherwise???

If the bird cage is any indication of the sophistication level of the general populace, there are a LOT of willfully ignorant people out there that have no desire to become any wiser. It gratuitously explains all the folks want to tear the government apart, as they have no clue how it functions.

I had this discussion with my daughter a few month ago. She’s in her final year of nursing school and one of her classes covered patient communications. She said the average adult reading comprehension was at the 3rd grade level. We are in so much trouble…

Perplexed myself. Torn between shutting it down and the intelligence (intel, not mental…) gathering side of things. Neglecting to monitoring your opponents moves doesn’t stop them from moving. Not sure if we have enough momentum here to keep track of the chaos.
