One reason more to love the switch to Bluesky is that twitter no longer lets you block accounts from hashtags you follow.

Schools for the wealthy should not be subsidized by tax payers.

Text explaining how there isn’t a war on cars, with all the benefits of reallocating street space to move a lot more people with a lot less space and other consequences, including life and death, pollution/emissions, public and personal costs, etc. Providing more choices works better for everyone, including drivers. And more transportation choices support the economic competitiveness of cities, as smart cities know.

I’m not a fan of politicians trying to make people angry for votes by claiming there actually IS a “war on cars” (there isn’t — if anything there’s been a war on every OTHER way of getting around since the 1960s).

A politician just made the claim on LinkedIn. Here’s the reply I posted. #UrbanTruth

Rich, connected and idle. The amount of free time they have to just do horrible stuff is obscene.

Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.

“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back to a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

IT SAVES PUBLIC MONEY to house people.

There should be a simple planning term for “don’t judge the value of a future bridge by how many people are currently swimming across the river”. It’s so prevalent. Bike lanes, transit, housing, parking, anything really.

100 dollars for a new bike chain and 70 bucks for bike grips. I really do want to shop local, but prices are so high at local retail shops that I’m forced go online now.

Mo Amir @vancolour.bsky.social posted on Ken Sim “opt out” election signs - against rules and bound to upset a lot of people. When I’m out campaigning w/ Green candidate @annettereilly.bsky.social common refrain I hear is regret voting for ABC in ‘22 (still under campaign finance investigation)

CMHC releases plan books for the 21st century We can build faster, cheaper, and better with predesigned plans for the Goldilocks density. A great legacy for Justin Trudeau.

On his way out the door, Justin Trudeau's government drops a "housing design catalogue" of stock plans for ADUs, duplexes, fourplexes and sixplexes that can be dropped on suburban and urban lots. Really nice work by LGA Architecture, Michael Green, and other top Canadian firms.

We may already be losing Quinn Hughes if we maintain the current trajectory. Our only option may be to trade our most valuable assets for futures.
