Silent Running really is something, good choice. I think with American Graffiti the characters feel incredibly real. Where that scripting talent went by the time Star Wars was written is anyone’s guess.

American Graffiti, hands down. I was going through the 1973 lists, and a lot were good/fun/ok, but it’s an enduring favourite of mine.
And I’m going to say possibly George Lucas’ best film.
Side note: 1973 also saw the release of one of my mum’s favourite films - Psychomania.
‘Markwayne’ sounds like 25% of a comprehensive school’s attendance register in the 1980s
The 1879 drawing La Blanchisseuse by Pascal-Adolphe-Jean Dagnan-Bouveret is considered the earliest example of Western art to portray a gay male couple. The piece is presently held in a private collection.
Was about to kick off about a property bylaw, then realised I sounded a bit Tory/neo-Labour.
Deleted.
Thank you so much!
Hey loves, I made a #digitalzine of some of my work. Can be downloaded for the price of a coffee!

I have a few for random purposes, but my little one I just need with me
I think Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is incredibly underrated. Not least for just killing off Shia LaBeouf off screen.
Yep. Christ I’m ridiculous sometimes.
Actually good point. Although I don’t really put that much into it, except calendar entries. I just like having it with me
This. I think I stared at my laptop bag for about 5 minutes before being able to ‘crack on’

Is it weird to have an emotional support journal?
Oh my god, my technical drawing class was very much the same. Utterly joyless.
Perversely, Religious Education became one of my favourite subjects because we went into, albeit on a surface level, the beliefs and customs of different cultures.
It didn’t make me a believer, but the subject was very engaging and I think I took some of that with me from school.
This is a different scrnario, but there’s something I’ve learned, which school didn’t teach me about art. By learning about artists, their processes and the times they were in, I developed a greater interest in their work.
I tried to like art at school and I was terrible.
My mental state? Oh just watching super cuts of interviews with Denise Gough and Kyle Soller, or Yerin Ha and Luke Thompson, in between regional BBC reports about the supernatural from the 70s and 80s.
Why do you ask?

Oh right! It’s a remarkable turn. Might be due a rewatch
It’s only just occurred to me that no one has really mentioned Catherine O’Hara’s role in Six Feet Under. Truly extraordinary and unhinged. I keep thinking about in on and off.
Oh, yes, good point. But these re also good examples of morality play/dystopia/feel-good, so they have different jobs to do. But it’s interesting to see continuation of the tragedy through different lenses, and how timeless it is.
I guess that because Marty’s ‘prophecy’ just has a little more detail, so he can make the call. Not for poor Oedipus though.
Honestly, THAT letter.
The thing is, Keir, I’m not sure who still sees Labour as progressive anymore, so there’s no vote to split.
Some days you’re just the Sancho Panza
Whenever I hear of a new high profile figure or world leader from the LGBTQI+ the community, I first think it’s really good news. And broadly kind of is.
But still doesn’t mean they’re going to do anything for marginalised people.
Never take decision makers at face value.
Thank you!
