Devil May Cry 2?
It was very impressiveβ¦fourβ¦.fourteen years ago somehow
I know itβs been ported to every system under the sun at high visual fidelity and performance now but Iβm still in awe of RE: Revelations being a *3DS* game youtu.be/InwHh5XqYLo?...
Capcom still doesnβt seem to know what to do with Claire narrative/arc-wise tho.
Revisiting Revelations 2. I know RE7 gets credit as the start of the comeback tour but I think this one doesnβt get the love it deserves. Great Manhunt/Saw atmosphere with some clever AI partner mechanics that are enjoyable when they easily could have been annoying.
The light switch-obsessed zombie became my personal nemesis more than anyone else in that game lol. I lost so much health to him early on while figuring out how to play as grace.
Rented D(e)ad, the new supernatural-tinged dramedy featuring some of the Dropout crew. Extremely funny and moving. youtu.be/4dOqK_XcPY4?...
Meticulously creating that whole vibe and going SIKE is dumb even if your goal to poke the audience.
I fully believe thereβs supernatural things at the edge of season 1 at the very least. Any attempts by the show itself to deny it feels very The Lady Doth Protest Too Much imo
FWIW, felt the same way initially but the payoff was worth it and made the arc even more enjoyable on rewatch.
Only real gripe with RE9 is none of Leonβs cheesy one-liners top this one
Itβs definitely the one that bravely commits to the bit the most, friction and all. Love it for that
Thatβs fair. Maybe if I had spent more time with NG+ I would have found the fun
Feels like parrying has βreplacedβ that but agreed. Itβd be nice to have another mobility option as a quick escape.
My issue with it isnβt that it isnβt like RE2. I donβt begrudge sequels doing something else by any means but I found it be the opposite of the thrill ride I think itβs trying to be. The action is dull and the few puzzles there are pretty uninteresting.
People rag on 6 but at least that game is constantly swinging for the fences in bizarrely entertaining ways
RE3 Remake is probably the only Resident Evil (of the ones I've played) I'd consider a "bad" game in that its virtues are so heavily outweighed by its flaws, it's hard for me to recommend to anyone. I've played it twice and was so deeply bored each time.
That's RE9 wrapped. Incredible game. Guessing it fits here for me:
RE2R
RE4/RE4R
RE9
RER
RE7
RERev 1+2
RE8
RE5
RE6
RE3R
I love RE9 for a lot of reasons. One of them is that it proves that the conceit of 6 - that you can have both the scary bits and the action bits live alongside each other - wasnβt a mistake. Just needed a more considered and faithful execution.
All Iβve done today is play Diablo 2 and RE9 while eating pizza and guzzling coffee. Not a minute misspent.
As is, this is just reason to be concerned for the adaptation or ammo to dislike it if you're someone who's already made up their mind to do so.
I know promo shots like this are pretty standard but feels like a rushed misstep to have this be the first thing anyone sees from the show. Would have been better to make first contact with a trailer imo. variety.com/2026/tv/news...
Death Island is a good Fast and Furious type adventure! I hated Welcome to Raccoon City tho
I did too. I need to see Nouvelle Vague soon.
The Anderson movies are what they are but at least they have a kind of flamboyance that makes them fun to watch. This movie just sucks.
Welcome to Raccoon City is so weird. Who is that movie even for? I donβt begrudge filmmakers taking liberty with source material but none of the deviations in that movie lead anywhere interesting.
Caught up just in time for Requiem!
Speedrunning them today before the 9:00 pm release tonight
