Anyway. They need to stop trying to explain Renne's backstory yesterday because every time they add on it gets progressively worse. I finally came to terms with the implications from Azure only for them to pull out a whole other, bigger knife to twist. Like, stop that. It was really hacky this time.
It's smaller scale but characters and relationships change, which is what's important; there'd be a ton to squish into Horizon otherwise. If someone got annoyed at the last third getting "reset" I'd say get over it, but it IS funny Agnes looks at the screen and says "we're back to status quo :)"
This game has a reputation, and I can see why it would be called filler, though I don't agree. I think these games do a good job of progressing the state of the world each time, and ultimately this did that. Not a massive amount, but enough. Funny enough it feels closest to 3rd in that regard.

22) The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2
It's Daybreak 1 but fully realized, so it's ideal. Unique story to explore, though some plot in the middle felt poorly handed. I adore the setting and the cast, Van is my favorite protag of the series without a doubt, and I'm glad there's more.
