Using repeated measures of mental ill-health spanning 40+ years, we found post-lockdown return to pre-pandemic levels in both cohorts & life-long inequalities by factors out of the individuals' control: birth year, sex assigned at birth, childhood socioeconomic position, and their intersections
We’re excited to see @dmorenoagostino.bsky.social’s article on the @uk.theconversation.com site. You can also find out more about the full research project on the CLS website: bit.ly/4aa5MYV

Turns out that social media influencer promotion of food affects children’s food intake
Influencer marketing of unhealthy foods increased children’s immediate food intake
Who'd have thought
Most people working in this area have known for years that DWP's figures on trends in out-of-work benefit caseloads are complete junk but have struggled to find more accurate figures. Ben has now produced an estimated time series and the discrepancy is huge. Nobody should be using these stats!
📢 Job opportunity! 📢
I am recruiting a 2-year postdoc to join me at @clscohorts.bsky.social to work on a SUPER exciting project on the quantitative study of intersectional inequalities in youth mental health across time and place!

🔍Following our recent work (PMID: 39810682 and 37966825), we observed larger mortality rate differences for most causes between people with and without mental disorders in the lower income groups, whilst an interesting reverse pattern was found for deaths from alcohol misuse and suicide.
📢 My third PhD paper was just published in The Lancet Regional Health-Europe (authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S...), in which we examined cause-specific mortality in individuals with and without mental disorders according to socioeconomic position, using nationwide registers from Denmark.
Our very own little starter pack: members and associated organisations across the four research consortia that make up PHI UK. Please let us know if we've left you off.
Are you using administrative registers to investigate the association between income and health? Then you should definitely check the last paper from our group, led by @lindaejlskov.bsky.social and just published at the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health!
Join our science night with fascinating activities and talks!
I'll be talking about my research, "Wired for connection: The neuroscience of loneliness and health".
Super excited about it!🧠🧪🧑🔬
