i’d be more comfortable with the olivia nuzzi coverage if every story was headlined something like β€œseduced by a guy who eats roadkill: the story of an extremely stupid lady”

Cuomo has ran such a racist campaign that I was going to say that if you see him in the city you should hound him about it for the rest of the life but then I remembered that he doesn't live here and probably won't set foot here again after today.

Spinning Yarns Rachel Wetzler visits the Bukhara Biennial and critiques the link between new biennials and soft power

In September I went to Uzbekistan for a week and now you can read about it in the November issue of Artforum. Tl;dr, the art was pretty good and the politics are pretty dicey. www.artforum.com/columns/bukh...

counterpoint, Faun used to be good and then it got a new chef and became bad, at which point regulars (me) stopped eating there.

personally, this show stresses me out to the point that I find it unwatchable, but I was genuinely secondhand starstruck when Michael told me he took a zoom call with DANNY DEVITO from our bedroom.

just listened to Kirsten Gillibrand imply that Zohran wants to murder all Jews and destroy Israel. like an order of magnitude more racist than anything George W. Bush ever said about Muslims

I cannot stress enough that Mamdani’s plan is not to freeze all rents but to appoint a Rent Guidelines Board that he can direct to freeze rents on rent stabilized units, as De Blasio did several times.

Me too (lol), but there was just too much going on in this primary between the nepotism and the insane PAC spending and the 6 candidates for someone whose main selling point was competence to make enough of a dent!!! I am proud nevertheless.

Unfortunately my brother @voteben.nyc did not win his primary in D4 but my consolation prize is that Rachel Storch spent $500k to come in third.

Their race, like others, has been swamped by mailers and digital advertising from outside groups backed by companies such as DoorDash and the billionaires Bill Ackman and Steven Roth, who have also supported Mr. Trump and former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, the front-runner in the mayor’s race. Ms. Maloney has been by far the biggest beneficiary in her race of this outside support, with $450,000 backing her.

I appreciate @nytimes.com reporting on the obscene amounts of PAC spending in this race but maybe they could have mentioned this new one advertising on their site, run by fmr Congress Member Carolyn Maloney's COS that has not filed a single disclosure with the CFB... www.nytimes.com/2025/06/23/n...

The cancellation of 123 affordable senior homes at Haven Green is shameful, and only reflects the corruption, dysfunction, and incompetence of the Adams administration.

Ben Wetzler is our top pick for Manhattan's 4th Council District seat. He'll push for lowering neighborhood speed limits to 20 mph, restoring year-round outdoor dining, completion of the East River Greenway, and building new housing. More about @voteben.nyc here: www.streetspac.org/2025_nyc_pri...

call me crazy but I think it’s actually pretty bad to have DoorDash’s PAC dumping over $200,000 into one city council race www.nyccfb.info/FTMSearch/In...

Proud to announce I'm cross-endorsing Vanessa Aronson in the district 4 Democratic primary. Republican billionaires and corporate interests are dumping unprecedented sums into this race on behalf of every candidate... except 2. Us honest public servants gotta stick together

and finally, I am legally obligated to remind you all that Eric Adams won in the EIGHTH ROUND of ranked choice voting in 2021 by about 7,000 votes. YOUR VOTE MATTERS. fill out that ballot with as many candidates as you find acceptable!

better to rank 5 if there are 5 you can tolerate (which given the number of people running, there probably are.) in practice, it might not matter much if you're planning to rank zohran 1 or 2 but in theory the goal would be to keep your (no cuomo) ballot in play for as long as possible.

Mailing from New Yorkers for a Better Future 2025

Got a mailer from a PAC trying to influence NYC Council District 4 primary voters (mailing doesn’t mention the district, but includes photos/names of 3 Dist 4 candidates). Top donor to the PAC is Bill Ackman. Surefire way to remind me not to rank *any* of those (his) candidates.
