Strong, ambitious SF ideas throughout, often falling short in execution. PD's Doctor just about works in context, but compared to other incarnations is a frustratingly passive lead, saddled with the worst companions the show’s ever had, giving him the air of an ineffectual substitute teacher.

Went to this the other night. Phenomenal.
Big, bold swings to the last. Three years in, War Machines establishes what a "standard" Doctor Who story looks like, Tenth Planet establishes the mechanism for the show to last another six decades, and Gunfighters establishes that the opinions of organised fandom are frequently a load of bollocks.
I'd like to speak to someone who works (or worked) for the Probation Service as part of some research I'm doing for a writing project.
