Im Austausch mit niedergelassenen Ärzt:innen wurde wieder klar:
💬 Was treibt uns an? Leiden lindern, besser behandeln.
🧩 Was fehlt?

What an amazing anniversary!
Phosphaphenalenes – a success story and such a big part of my academic training.
It’s hard to believe it's been 8 years working together, @cromeronieto.bsky.social – since 2017!
Excited to see what comes next.
It was like a dream...I started alone in Heidelberg. Soon we made the impossible: develop a new type of molecule!Today at the @uclm.es, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of our first publication on phosphaphenalenes and with a dreamed group of scientists! I feel so grateful 🙏🙏
🎉 Congratulations to our PhD student Anna Wolfram @annawolfram.bsky.social for receiving the "DAREA Award 2025" - the honorary prize of the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences for commitment to gender equality in the STEM sciences. We are extremely proud 🙌

Great way to take care of yourself! Go you!

Maybe it’s time we make space not the exception, but the foundation.
Not less science — just smarter, more human science.
#ScienceCulture #AcademicLife #MicroSabbaticals #MentalHealthInResearch #LettingGo
6/
Not a luxury — a necessity.
Because operational output without strategic perspective doesn’t take us far.
It wastes time, money — and most of all, people.
5/
So: what if we built that kind of space into the system?
Micro-sabbaticals.
One full day every month. No meetings. No deadlines. No emails.
Just time to think.
4/
That partial distance made all the difference.
Enough silence to hear your own thoughts again.
But flying halfway across the globe every time we need perspective? Not exactly scalable.
3/
But clarity doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from distance.
For me, it took a trip to the other side of the world. Still working, but in the quiet hours — when no one messaged — thinking returned. Strategy returned.
2/
Stepping away is hard — not just physically, but mentally.
Work follows us everywhere: in our thoughts, on our phones, across time zones.
Even “breaks” aren’t really breaks.
Two women walk along a wide black sand beach in Raglan, New Zealand. It is a crisp winter day with clear skies. The beach is empty, the ocean calm and the atmosphere quiet and spacious — a moment of reflection and distance.
1/
Science is relentless.
Exciting. Important. Exhausting.
Deadlines, grants, papers — the treadmill never stops.
We call it progress, but often it feels like just spinning wheels.
What we rarely talk about: the cost of never stepping back.
🧵
4/ I left Hong Kong inspired by the science, the people, and the energy in the room.
If we didn’t get a chance to connect but you’re curious about Cancer Cores, feel free to reach out — always happy to chat.

3/ Immensely grateful to Joachim Herz Stiftung and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung for making this trip possible. 🙏
Their support opened the door to conversations and connections I’ll be carrying forward.
2/ These meetings always remind me how small the science world really is.
I randomly ran into Carina — we studied together years ago, and suddenly there we were, catching up on the other side of the globe. ✨
1/ 🌏🧬 Just back from Hong Kong and still buzzing from #ISSCR2025.
I had the chance to present our latest on Cancer Cores – assembloids where tumors are fully surrounded by healthy neural tissue. Great conversations and thoughtful feedback at the poster session. 🧠🧪

Hi!
Flash talks — such a cool format to practice science communication! ⚡🎤
At #SWPC2025, 6 scientists had the chance to present their work — a fantastic opportunity to develop sci-comm skills. I’d love to see this format in more science meetings! 🌟💥 #PhosphorusChemistry #SciComm @sspchem.bsky.social

I highly encourage you to explore the fantastic work coming out of this community — it’s really cool P-chemistry! 🚀 #PhosphorusChemistry #MaterialsScience
I’ve had the privilege to be part of the organizing committee since the very first edition — and I’ve attended all of them!
This initiative, co-led by my supervisor @cromeronieto.bsky.social, has built an amazing community of researchers and innovators. 🌟

🌟 Really excited to see my long-term colleague and friend @regulskaela.bsky.social present at #SWPC2025!
She’s sharing cutting-edge work on high-performance linearly-fused frameworks — showing how beautiful P-chemistry can overcome the limits of C-only backbones.
