Kid in class most likely to fix the blinking “12:00” on the VCR without being asked. I like Memphis, tech, music, dogs, science, F1, genuine people, and thinking it’ll all be OK somehow.

Yep. It’s hot enough for me.

There is always someone in the meeting ready to perform the precision math required to tell you how much time they’re “giving back” if the meeting ends early.

As I read the news these days, I’m reminded of IT wisdom I learned 25 years ago:

The junior developer DEMANDS admin access.

The senior developer REFUSES admin access.

Ja Morant debuting his "Ja Raffe" colorway against the Utah Jazz means something to me.

Ja Raffe was a giraffe at the Memphis Zoo who was named after Ja but then traded to a zoo in Salt Lake City in 2022.

Please consider: Maybe they care SO MUCH that they need to use their system that honors important things. If something slips through, it can be crushing for them. Maybe that’s why they have the system in the first place, and they’re demonstrating how much they care by using it.

PSA: If you have anyone in your life who needs to write things down, constantly put events on a calendar, or check and recheck with you, it can be frustrating. You might think they don’t care enough. If they cared, they’d remember, right?

Honestly, the gall of the Boston crowd to chant about referee decisions in tonight’s #Grizzlies game was pretty special.

Two words for certain types of people, should you need them:

microlipet: one who gets all worked up over nothing.

struthonian: the person who buries their head in the sand and says ‘Problem? What problem?’.

My kid likes Rubik's Cubes. His broke, so I got him a fancy GANCUBE. I never learned how to solve one when I was a kid, so last night I started learning, and I'm getting close. As my dad used to say, I'm old but I'm slow.

This means I now need a second fancy GANCUBE. For me.

Hmm, I read this in the approximate rhythm of “I Would Die 4 U” from the other, better Prince.

Long weekend but a good one, especially proud of kiddo. I think my ranking in the global top 5% of Dads is holding, and this kid makes everything worth it.

It was a really nice dog walk this afternoon. My guy is having major surgery soon, and this was a good way to both think about it and not think about it.
