Auch die Daten bei der Studienstiftung zeigen, dass bei firstgens mit/ohne Migrationshintergrund noch viel Luft nach oben ist. Die Daten in der Wissenschaft, erhoben von Christina Möller, zeigen ein noch drastischeres Bild. Positive Gegenbspe sind gut, aber sie bleiben leider die Ausnahme zur Regel.

Seitdem hat sich bestimmt viel geändert. Trotzdem geht es, und das zeigen die Daten, bei wissenschaftlichen Karrieren genauso weiter. Wo man in der Schule wenigstens noch Noten hatte, ist man als Postdoc fast vollständig auf den Vorgesetzten und seine Netzwerke + Familie angewiesen.

Danke für die Wertschätzung. Die Professorin hat es nach weiteren Gesprächen wenigstens eingesehen, dass der Tipp unangebracht war. Aber zeigt gut, dass systemische Probleme gerne aufs Individuum abgeschoben werden, auch wenn es den Feminismus um Jahrzehnte zurück wirft.

Interesting! But I think it's unlikely that it's similar in humans as TAF2 is partially sequestered in speckles and the profiles on TSSs are not the same, as far as I can tell. But that's only for TAF2 of course.

Great work, congrats to @sergio-gma91.bsky.social and the entire team! I haven't read the full paper yet, but any thoughts on how this would be in humans where TAF2 is sequestered in nuclear speckles? It's not easily captured on promoters at all, at least with the techniques I used.

My actual question was if it is uncommon in the social sciences to provide the raw and analyzed data including code along with their studies as shown here in the Science paper in question.

That's another discussion. We were discussing about providing the data along with the study.

In Cell Press journals providing the raw data is mandatory.

In my field (biology), we are required to upload all the raw data and scripts used for analysis. Ideally, we share the entire workflow with intermediate results and tests used in repositories like GitHub. Is this not common in the social sciences? Where can we find the actual data?

These: es sind Kollegen, die an der Analyse gesellschaftlicher Zusammenhänge nicht viel Interesse haben, weil sie privilegiert sind - und nicht weil sie Naturwissenschaftler sind. Von Rassismus betroffen waren sie wohl nicht und ich nehme an, auch keine Arbeiterkinder?

I also remember the criticism was that they couldn't be purified. Some people were very harsh with their criticism. I'm glad that time, science, and technology solved the issue.

Thanks for this great thread and your enthusiasm. I also started reading it today, and there are so many things I didn't know! Just one thing, it says transcriptional condensates contain TFIID and they cite the Lee et al. paper from Cissé lab, where this was, to my knowledge, not shown.
