i have been under the thrall of Blue Prince for the past month and a half. i am on day 76. i am so close to the end, i can taste it. i have said the phrase “it’s all coming together” about 10 times now. i want to play other games so badly but i cannot stop myself. someone please send help.

100%. remakes streamlining/updating gameplay are par for the course nowadays and you can have your opinions about that, but cutting stories defeats the entire purpose of a remake imo.
they should’ve kept it in and adapted it to tie it into the overarching story, or shortened it at the very least.
it’s a really memorable one!! i’ll admit the story might’ve been thematically weak, but the presentation was phenomenal IMO. When you realize what’s going on, it’s such a powerful moment. such a shame

There are many reasons to help people. One that I think gets overlooked sometimes is: helping others often helps you. So if you feel like shit, don’t flagellate yourself in the dark. Leave your head a little. Extend some kindness. You can’t do everything, but you can do some things.

We did something different with the credits for Demonschool. We used this format: name, title, lengthy description of what they did. Often you see credits in games where you don't know what the credited developer was actually responsible for. We wanted to give people proper, actual credit.

The best way journalists can support indie games is to cover more than whatever the current indie hits/darlings of the moment are. Games like Hades, Blue Prince, and Silksong do not need help with visibility, but discoverability is the biggest challenge facing many indie devs today.
I wrote more words about how it feels to be a translator watching the games press report on AI and labor, coming from a field that's fought these battles for decades. It may look like I'm beating up on one outlet, but it's not about them; I've been trying to write this for me and my peers all year.
