An image of Lae'zel caressing the Gith egg with the caption "My child will not be allowed to use chat gpt. He will be smarter and stronger than the other children and he will kill them easily."
You can't trick me. There's no way a guy named "Markwayne" is a real dude. That's not real.
Of course, OF COURSE, this is Tim. Miserable, unhinged bastardman.
roadhouseendgame i was talking to my mom about cardassians and said something along the lines of what must it be like to be a cardassian civilian. like abstractly knowing the rest of the galaxy thinks of your species as 'the evil ones' and kinda sorta knowing your government runs labor camps and torture prisons and is a military empire, and it's a huge deal for everyone else in the galaxy, but you just like run a restaurant so it's not a big part of your daily life, so you just like, go about your day and make soup and don't think about it' and then halfway through my sentence i actually heard myself and then had to go sit down for like ten minutes. like sat down in a chair and stared at the floor for ten minutes
whoops
Don't worry about it.
She already said this was the last time we'd watch "Company" this year, but I think with @reenamccarty.bsky.social's brain being turbo cooked with an upcoming deadline and The Horrors, I'll bet i could sneak in a sixth watch next week m
Last week's production of "Company" left us cold, so there's only one thing to do.
Rewatch a production of "Company" we already know is good.
Beauty is pain and truth is beauty.
They're very good Elaine Stritch impressions.
I was also considering saying "Elaine Stritch and everyone who likes doing Elaine Stritch impressions".
I meant "Joanne".
You know the important one. The name of the main character of the whole show.
It is good and fun to think about constantly!
That was the most uneven production, no question. I enjoyed a lot of it, some great stuff in there. But there were so many Choices that were baffling. Also really didn't help that so much of the music was. Well. Hurm. How do I put this kindly?
Bad.
Holy shit. They actually did it.
Two of three productions failed to stick the emotions on the ending. Which way is this one going to go?
I've said this at too many "Beings Alive" at this point, but I guess I have to say it again: Act less, the music can carry this one.
Admittedly, that presupposes the performer can carry the tune. So hey ho, let's go.
This performance of "Ladies Who Lunch" is reminding me of Elaine Stritch in the documentary.
This is also the, uh, horniest version of "Poor Baby" I've seen thus far. Shame the Butterfly/Miami vignette was so flat.
Okay, this "Side by Side by Side" is the best rendition so far.
Also, this Bobby is EASILY the best dancer. No contest.
Now @reenamccarty.bsky.social is using intermission to play the RaΓΊl Esparza version of "Marry Me A Little". Which is just bullying. She is engaged in asynchronous temporal bullying.
I'm not looking forward to "Being Alive". This is like the Pope not being excited for Easter.
This Bobby really is a very good actor. Shame this is a musical and not a straight play.
This Amy. Also too much. Too much. From Amy. A too much Amy.
This should be illegal.
Doesn't help she didn't Sing THE S O N G!
This is also the production that's made me go "oof" the most.
And most of the things making me go "oof" are choices I don't agree with. But a bunch of it is people, uh, not being able to sing the parts.
This Marta... She's just too much, man. And the character is supposed to be Too Much. But, well, per @reenamccarty.bsky.social, not a cartoon character.
Bronze medal Bobby so far. In a field of four.
This is my least favorite version of "You Could Drive a Person Crazy". Because it was actually bad. Which is a shame.
Which five?
