Since we have 2 months of 2026 data now, we can see if the trend we saw last year holds up: does research from the current year get shared more on Bluesky or X-Twitter?

As you can see here, we still see days regularly where Bluesky's volume of research sharing is markedly higher than Twitter.

Can science build a better working dog? New approaches could put talented canines into the hands of more people with disabilities

More than half of dogs trained to help people with blindness, PTSD, autism, and other conditions fail to graduate. New scientific approaches could help, getting more--and better--working dogs into the hands of people who need them most. My new feature for @science.org!

HHS will allow pharmacies to boycott lifesaving drugs used in medication abortion Misoprostol and methotrexate do more than end pregnanciesβ€”but anti-abortion pharmacists can now refuse to offer them and still get federal funds.

The Trump administration formally withdrew federal guidance that required pharmacies to dispense methotrexate. Chronically ill people may face more challenges in getting this drug for their health. My latest for @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

Ensures that all the diseases covered by the previous immunization schedule will still be available to anyone who wants them through Affordable Care Act insurance plans and federal insurance programs, including Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and the Vaccines for Children program. Families will not have to purchase them out of pocket. Among peer nations, the U.S. will continue to offer the most childhood vaccines for free to those who want them.

At the end of 2024 I did a chronological round up of all the #plantscience in @science.org that year.
So how did 2025 pan out? This year, I’m grouping papers thematically instead of chronologically so read on to find out what exciting plant science came out over the last 12 months. (1/22)
