just saw a contemp romance author say she’s been told not to write a histrom and that just bums me out. we need pubs to be bold and encourage authors to try their hands at ALL genres or else we’ll end up in a world where, to paraphrase taylor swift, the greatest histroms of all time never get made 🥲

(2025 at a glance: two first drafts due in january, a book release january 28th, ongoing edits for those books I will submit in january, having to write two NEW first drafts due in january 2026, some bookish travel (yay!), and continuing to work my day job 😅)

I have finally figured out that getting up at 6 am to write before work is the only way I’m ever going to get words in on a work day. I’ll end the day with the best intentions and still just enter into a fugue state on my couch rather than start writing. it’s an affliction.

I haven’t even started rivals yet but…

not me emerging from the hotel bathroom and informing my boyfriend that “fun times are over and it’s time to get serious about my deadlines” as though HE was the one who dragged ME to the eras tour 😂😂😂

something I did not expect was how weirdly difficult it was to make an aesthetically pleasing friendship bracelet 🥲😩 are my crafting days that far behind me??
