I can't quite believe it but I've managed to pass my theory test today.

Recently there was a railway event I simply couldn't miss out on "The Greatest Gathering" Held At the Alston Depot In Derby. Celebrating 200 years of the railway. So many trains and so much variety.

Managed to secure a ticket for the Greatest Gathering in Derby 😁😁. The hotel is booked as well. But does mean an early start getting there.

A few weeks to go and it's the start of the Railway changing.

Stopped off for a brief visit to Duirinish. The scenery is amazing.

Really impressed with what Caledonian Sleeper Offers. I've managed to grab a seat in the club car 😁.

Just finished. Now for a quick sleep & off to London Euston for the sleeper train. My Highlands adventure starts later tonight.

Finally the rail replacement is over and getting the train home from work. Feels great being back onboard a train.

Up early this morning currently traveling to London Paddington & changing to go First class to Hereford made possible from the GWR rail sale earlier this month.

In a month's time. My Scotland adventure begins. Starting with the Caledonian Sleeper to Inverness(Day 1). Then the Far North line to Thurso(Day2). Back to Inverness(Day3). Then traveling to Kyle of Lochalsh finishing in Aberdeen(Day4).

Looking back , I am glad this year I took the leap and changed jobs to work directly for South Western Railway. Tomorrow I officially complete my 6 months probation. Happy New Year.

Next year's treat is booked. Travelling on the Caledonian sleeper train.

My last big railway adventure of the year starts right now. All the way to Glasgow for Edinburgh.
