As a PhD candidate I fundamentally understand how devastating this is. Longitudinal studies are so important and so hard to do. The researchers have to trade short term publications for long term results. And to end a 30 year study is just sickening.

I put a lot of money on the bet that at least one of them did not survive COVID.

Think about those of us who don't even like scary movies! 😵‍💫😵
