skenes would be an ace on just about any first division club
skenes would be an ace on just about any first division club
the hall of fame generally looks at careers rather than blips on the radar. and i agree - i dont even think ohtani, if he retired today, should be in the hall.
when people talk about an ace they generally mean someone who they can project can lead a first division club in a given season.
so for you, an ace is about their past body of work, not the potential to be the best pitcher on a team in an given year.
so youd say doc gooden in 1984 was not an ace. what about in 1985 when he threw maybe the best season of mlb pitching in history?
if itβs βthe first yearβ they couldnt possibly have all those accolades. 6+ war in his first full year would count for me.
matt harvey?
mitch keller
what was the question again?
yep, id rather the mets let one of the kids try out in that spot on the 26 man anyway.
yup. semien will be a huge upgrade at 2b and will play there everyday. if the mets signed arreaz it would be as a bench bat.
just the top part - i dont think the padres will trade tatis and thats a yankee fan. soto to 1b this year makes some sense if heβs down to do it.
my hunch is mostly based on this.
one more SP2 - type for sure, and i think an outfielder, probably by trade. I have a hunch that Soto is our true 1b
he has literally no chance of the hall of fame, but is guaranteed mets hall of fame
he was fired for sleeping with a cameraman's daughter
so glad the mets avoided bader
1. Bader sucks, he played for the mets and we couldn't wait to get rid of him.
2. Acuna is a AAAA ballplayer. He is not a prospect anymore, and he has no place on the pro squad.
It was a bargain deal for a change of scenery, a bounce back candidate who at a minimum provides elite defense.
it wont. you just dont have sources. it was pete, he was the problem.
lol dipshit itβs been completely over since 2015. if you were a mets fan you would have known that
super easy to get over it when they massively upgrade the team as part of it!
ok - im predicting the mets:
1. sign framber valdez
2. β extend peralta
3. β soto is our starting 1b - polanco actually is our DH not 1b.
4. β trade senga and/or petersen
5. β trade for or sign 1 or 2 more outfielders (duran, austin hayes) with the assumption that soto wont be out there like at all.
interestingly, members of the nats leadership helped draft many of the players they chose, when they were part of the rangers FO.
similarly, guess who is a special advisor to the brewers? billy eppler, the guy who drafted jett williams and drafted sproat (the first time)
the rangers second best prospect wasnt even on the top 100 prospects list.
my cousins bought Alonso Orioles jerseys for their kids for a laugh. going beyond that after the offseason we just had would be silly.
it would have been insane to run this team back after late season collapses in 2/4 of the last seasons
they got Amed Rosario. World Series drought about to be ended!
the orioles have been adding as well
alonso would be playing DH if he signed.
super glad that this is the first time in a long time that ive been made to think about that drooling propagandist.
i rooted for the red sox when they broke their curse and i rooted for the cubs when they broke theirs.
mets have a much less intense gap in winning but itβs exasperated by who we cohabitate with and the media who continue to push a βlol metsβ narrative which for obvious reasons triggers people.
but also, for context:
every mets fan grew up with the most intolerable genus of sports fan on the planet. the yankee fan. the most entitled living human beings whoβve ever lived.
trump owned half of queens and was still a yankee fan.
the mets never win and weβre ridiculed.
we care. was a high price to pay, weβll miss both of them and wish them the best in Milwaukee
