a) probably not going to happen again, thanks climate change (only four times 1900-2000)
b) it’d be a light dusting but Muni would grind to a halt and a good number of drivers would just stay home

I believe it's the newest of three seating layouts for the Siemens LRVs (the newer type), so yes, it's reasonable to be surprised.
I think most are the second layout, with one seat in the direction of travel and a bench sideways. The first layout was all sideways (and with no seat dividers!)
Have you ever heard Carter USM’s version? The spitting anger at the end, where they’re listing benefit questions, is pretty good.

On a rewatch of Aliens and its 2003 commentary, it was noticeable how everyone in the boardroom above Earth smoked, and how that wasn’t remarked on. Now it looks almost as anachronistic as the computers.
