I could *feel* the humid desperation of Russo, Ferrie, et al - you really nailed it. I have my seminar reading part of "Cruising" next week and they're excited about it.
A lot of these Kuwait sites are logistics operations. I spent weeks going between this port and Arifjan at the end of my Iraq tour, getting our shit ready to send home on a boat. There aren't many hardened structures - I lived in a tent most of the time, and I doubt things are much better now.
