If it’s an autonomous delivery vehicle with that footprint, should be able to carry a lot more cargo. If it’s going to be exposed cargo, a low, flat platform with fold down straight sides would be optimum.

Not true. The 2nd gen was widely praised. After reading the May ‘83 R&T review, I ran down to my local Honda dealer and gave them a $500 deposit. It was my first new car and still one of my favorites all these years later.
