Yep. It was live streamed and you should be able to watch it back
More Matthew Benham:
-Thomas Frank's legacy at Brentford was Danish friendly & open culture
-It appears there are cultural issues at Tottenham
-English football culture has traditionally been unfriendly and closed
Biggest surprise / shock for me:
We passed on signing Eze for Β£4 million in 2019.
More Matthew Benham at #SSAC26
-Creating shooting opportunities (and squandering them) is under-rated
-Bryan Mbeumo's stats at aged 19 were 'meh' and signed on scouting
-Coaches set to make team selection and in-game decisions based on AI modelling

Matthew Benham headlines at #SSAC26
-Brentford had 20% chance of relegation at start of season
-Didn't seriously consider hiring anyone other than Keith Andrews
-Players still get bonuses for set piece goals (including kick-off goals)
-Brentford passed on signing Eze for Β£4 million in 2019

I also found The Observer's take quite puzzling. π³
the Women's Asian Cup is less than a week away, and one of the most fascinating storylines this year is the return of North Korea to the international stage.

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. Itβs dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Worth a listen: one of the most candid interviews about how Brentford operate.
From 25 minutes in.
Ben Ryan's back story with Fiji also remarkable.
So you could just listen to it all.

I would guess the Β£65 million includes ASO's fee plus public costs including policing, road closures etc.
ASO may hoover up some private sponsorship deals, provided they don't clash with their primary sponsors.
For sure. I am guessing hosting fees + sponsorship + hospitality + merch could bring in an extra β¬25 million for the men's race.
And they can probably add β¬15 million, maybe more, for the women's race.
You can see ASO's accounts for free via link below. (You used to have to pay for them but now just need to register.)
data.inpi.fr/entreprises/...
Interestingly, ASO staff receive bonuses partly based on length of employment.
This means Yann Le Moenner (CEO since 2008) will likely get bumper bonus based on loyalty and profits.
So not much incentive for ASO to change the status quo unless there is s serious moment of reckoning.
I agree with Richard Plugge cycling is in a downward spiral (even if some team budgets are rising)
-Cycling races does not easily fit social media age
-No big global stars or compelling rivalries
-No consolidated strategy or marketing plan*
*save for the anodyne Netflix series
Some likely reasons:
-ASO own the TDF, the sport's golden goose and barely share revenue with teams
-Long term income streams from France TV and sponsors
-Fewer doping controversies
-They remain small & nimble and can adapt or discontinue money-losing parts of business
For the first time in a while, I looked at ASO's accounts - they are in as strong a position financially as they have ever been.
-Group's profit rising exponentially for 5+ years.
-In 2024, record β¬131 million profit
(β¬90 million of which converted into dividend for the Amaury family.)
The Tour de France owner Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) is posting very strong financial results even as cycling is in a 'downward cycle'

Brentford in highest mid-season league placing in 88 years. π
Back then leading Arsenal by 3 points, before imploding and finishing sixth.
Daily Mirror: Jan. 2 1938
Brentford has not fired a head coach since Marinus Dijkhuizen in 2015.
Since then UK has jettisoned four prime ministers, the European Union and more than 100 Premier League coaches.
