I try not to focus on crud, but something that’s been making me really sad recently is that whenever I would see a cute 3D character, I used to wonder about its creation, the software involved: 3DS Max? Maya? Zbrush?
Now, it’s a wrinkle of the nose and, “prolly genAI”. ☹️
It’s been difficult not having my games at my fingertips over the past monthish. Brain surprised me by reliving memorable experiences. South of Midnight has been on repeat, just thinking about the wonderful art, lighting, environments, and sound. I want to replay the cutscenes on a giant screen.

I started Still Wakes the Deep around Halloween last year. It felt like the perfect just-scary-enough game, but I wanted it in my Steam library and also wanted the DLC for the complete experience, so I put it aside.
Been thinking about it since! Definitely not gonna wait until Halloween this year.

It’s not hard to feel like gaming is just cooked. It’s not about creating games and selling those games for a profit. It’s only about “profit number go up” and for live-service games that barely even change at their core. (Again, I’m a Destiny player, I get it.)

Nothing says, "Hey, one company owning everything isn't really a problem," quite like a company being able to throw a tantrum and shut down ALL of their locations in the ENTIRE state, knowing that it is a credible threat.
I was happy when Apple launched their research/health studies and have been participating for years. I was notified recently that I’d been withdrawn from the studies and was bummed, but then I saw I could rejoin and was like okay cool.
Then decided not to cos I don’t trust Apple anymore. Sad.
